Iheanacho Eyes 5th Win In 13 Games As Leicester Cit Face Chelsea At Stamford Bridge

Kelechi Iheanacho will look to secure his fifth win in 13 games across all competitions against Chelsea which Leicester City pay a visit to in a Premier League match this weekend.

Iheanacho made his 170th Premier League appearance when Leicester faced Joe Aribo’s Southampton last weekend but the former had nothing to be excited about as the Foxes lost 2-1.

However, Leicester and Chelsea will square off at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon with the two teams having endured indifferent starts to the 2022/23 Premier League season.

Iheanacho on his part has faced Chelsea twelve times in different competitions with four wins, two draws and six losses in his record while scoring just a Premier League goal.

His only goal against Chelsea came in 2021 in a 2-1 loss, helping him enter the Premier League record book as the first player to score every day of the week in the same season.

Iheanacho has so far netted 37 goals in 170 Premier League outings for both Manchester City and Leicester since making his debut for the former against Watford on August 29, 2015.

The Nigerian international who returned to form in the 2020/21 season has made 124 EPL appearances for Leicester, scoring 25 goals since he joined the Foxes from Man City in 2017.

Before he made the switch to the King Power stadium, the 25-year-old hit the back of the net twelve times in 46 Premier League matches after making twelve starts for the Citizens.

Iheanacho’s overall record in the English Premier League after making 170 appearances for the pair of Man City and Leicester currently stands at 37 goals and some 21 other assists.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi also made his 210th appearance across all competitions for Leicester in their home loss to Southampton last weekend, starting and finishing the encounter.

And funnily enough, the combative midfielder will also be making his 13th appearance overall against Chelsea with the 25-year-old having scored twice in 12 matches versus the Blues.

Honestly I don know what nacho is still doing in Leicester because its like that man doesn’t have much interest in him, he’s just there to add to the numbers…Nacho is a well experience striker and He can be a starter or regular at any average team in England….. Just my view

Absolutely agree with you. It appears he lacks ambition, is risk-averse, or maybe just lazy and satisfied with earning wages at Leicester. He has been a perpetual substitute not commanding a regular starting place, and the English pair of Vardy and Maddison preferred over him.
Considering he was once competing with Gabriel Jesus for a shirt at Man City and remains one of Nigeria’s most skillful players. He has underachieved careerwise.
