Iheanacho’s Brace, Assist Sinks Man United, Sends Leicester Into First FA Cup Semi-finals In 39 Years

Kelechi Iheanacho continued his impressive scoring form after netting two goals and had an assist, in Leicester City’s 3-1 win against Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, Completesports.com reports.

Iheanacho has now scored seven goals in his last four games and has three goals in the FA Cup this season.

In what was Brendan Rodgers’ 100th game in charge at the club, Leicester have now reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 1981-82 – they had lost five consecutive FA Cup quarter-final matches before Sunday’s game.

Leicester will take on Southampton in the semi-finals while Chelsea and Manchester City will do battle in the other fixture.

Leicester took the lead in the 24th minute as Iheanacho pounced on a loose pass from Fred, rounded Dean Henderson and slotted the ball home.

United for back on level terms in the 38th minute through Mason Greenwood who slammed his effort beyond Kasper Schmeichel following a superb dummy from Donny van de Beek.

In the 52nd minute Leicester took the lead again this time through Youri Tielemans who played a one-two with Iheanacho, went on a run at the United defence before shotting past Henderson.

And in the 78th minute Iheanacho got his second goal and Leicester’s third after heading in Marc Albrighton’s setpiece from the far post.

One major strength of Kel is positioning. He knows how to position himself. This is one thing our Coach should know. I wish Nacho more wins

  • Iheanacho has really improved on his ball playing and ball handling…he has always been a deadly finisher right from the beginning just that he was always bullied by defenders because of his lack of footwork but now he has sort that aspect out and he will be unstoppable from now on…. it’s now we will see the real kelechi

  • I’m happy for this guy

That could of been Osimhen but he decided to go to napoli and play with selfish teamates. The vary partnership is going good for Iheancho. Vardy has a 8 game scoreless streak Iheanacho has stepped up. His teammates are passing him the ball

    Iheancho should start come Saturday.

You can’t bench a sticker who scored a brace against a team like Man United.

This boy is on fire.. Benin Republic is in serious trouble.

  • A superb positioning. Team work very okay.

  • I watched the match. Kele was excellent. His movement was superb, his touches exquisite, his passes sublime. His finishing was classical. He was Leicester’s best player on the night and man of the match. Maguire couldnt stop him, try as he did. Vardy had a great chance to score but missed it. Kele is the man of the moment and keeps getting better with each game he plays. He is really doing well for himself.
