Christantus Uche has vowed to come back stronger from his injury setback, reports Completesports.com.
The Nigeria international sustained a serious knee injury during Getafe’s pre-season friendly against French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco last week.
The attacking midfielder is expected to miss the entire 2026/27 season as a result of the injury.
Despite the lengthy spell on the sidelines, Uche remains positive about his recovery, insisting that the setback will only make him stronger.

He also expressed his gratitude to Getafe supporters for their messages of encouragement and support during the difficult period.
“Today is one of the hardest days of my career. Following the latest medical tests, it has been confirmed that my knee injury is serious and that I will have to face a long recovery process,” Uche wrote on Instagram.
“I won’t lie: accepting that I will be away from the pitch for a while is tough. Football is my passion, my job, and what makes me happiest, and now I have to face a situation I never imagined. But challenges are also part of the journey.
“I am going to face this period with strength, patience, and determination, working every day to get back to doing what I love most: playing football.
“And a special thanks to all the fans who have sent me messages of support. This is just a chapter, not the end of the story.”
