Iyayi Atiemwen Joins Abdullahi At Cypriot Club Omonia Nicosia

Nigeria midfielder Iyayi Atiemwen has joined Cypriot outfit Omonia Nicosia on a season-long deal from GNK Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia, Completesports.com reports.

Omonia Nicosia have the option to sign him on a permanent deal at the end of the 2021/22 season.

“We inform that we have reached an agreement with GNK Dinamo Zagreb for the acquisition of the 25-year-old Nigerian midfielder, IyayiAtiemwen, in the form of a one-year loan and the right to buy from our team next summer, “reads a statement on the club’s official website.

The 25-year-old joined Dinamo Zagreb from another Croatian club HNK Gorica in 2019.

The versatile winger was however loaned out Locomotiv Zagreb in January 2020.

Atiemwen won the double with Dinamo Zagreb last season and has played in the Champions League and Europa League.

He is now the second Nigerian at Omonia Nicosia with Shehu Abdullahi already a key member of the squad.
