La Liga Round 22 Preview: Sevilla Look To Go Third With Win Away To Celta Vigo

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid face a test away to Real Betis, while Rayo Vallecano host Leganes

The 22nd round of games of action in Spain’s La Liga could well give Sevilla the chance to move back into the top three, depending how other results go. This coming Saturday evening (2 February), Sevilla travel to take on an out of sorts Celta Vigo side, while the following day Atletico Madrid are at Real Betis and on the Monday evening Rayo Vallecano need three valuable points when Leganes come to town.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the La Liga campaign now over halfway through, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, the clash between Celta Vigo and Sevilla. Celta are on a dreadful run of form which has seen the side lose five league games in a row and slip into the relegation zone – they are now priced at just 3.00 to fall through the trap door come the end of the season.

Sevilla, by way of comparison, have seen their own strong start to the season drop off slightly, but they remain in fourth place, just three points behind Real Madrid. The team is priced at just 1.20 to finish the season in the top four.

And while the betting is close for this match, it is Sevilla who come in as the favourites to take the points. You can double your money by backing the visitors to win at 2.00 while Celta, despite home advantage, are out at 3.75 to do the same – a draw comes in just under at 3.60, according to Oddsshark.

And we are expecting Celta’s poor run of form to continue. A narrow, 2-1 win for Sevilla is priced at 8.50, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a USS$42.50 pay out, while you can almost quadruple your money by backing a combo bet of a Sevilla win, coupled with both teams to score, at 3.75.

Atletico face tough test at Betis

The following day, Atletico Madrid will face a strong test of their title credentials when they travel to take on Real Betis. Real sit eighth in the table but could jump as high as fifth with a victory here, depending on how other results go.

Atletico, by way of comparison, are unbeaten in their last 18 league encounters and sit second in the table, five points behind defending champions and current table toppers Barcelona. Atletico are out at 11.00 to finish top of the pile in May, winning their first league title in half a decade.

And it is indeed Atletico who are the favourites to take the points in this clash. You can more than double your money by backing Atletico to win at 2.05, with Betis out at 4.00 to win on home soil – a draw is priced in the middle at 3.20.

And we think this should be a fairly comfortable afternoon for Diego Simeone and his players. A comfortable, 2-0 win for Atletico also comes in at 8.50, while you can more than trip-le your money by backing a combo bet of an Atletico win, coupled with a “No” to both teams scoring, at 3.10.

Rayo must take three points in relegation battle

And finally, Monday Night Football this week sees Rayo Vallecano host Leganes as they look for three points in their fight against relegation. Rayo have won four of their last five league games to climb out of the drop zone, but are still priced at just 2.00 to fall into the second tier.

Leganes sit level on points with Rayo but a place above them,, and this is a real relegation six-pointer. A win for either side would move them closer to the top half of the table than the relegation mire.

Again, the betting is tight but it is the home side who come in as the favourites to continue their excellent recent upturn in fortunes. You can more than double your money by backing Rayo to win at 2.37, while Leganes are out at 3.10 to do the same – a draw would appear to be the least likely outcome and is priced accordingly at 3.25.

And we are expecting home advantage to be a key factor here. A narrow, 2-1 win for Rayo is priced at 9.50, while you can more than double your money by backing over 2.5 goals in the game at 2.30.
