Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq was in action as Valencia defeated Barcelona 3-1 in the final day of the La Liga season.
The Nigerian international, who was making his 25 appearances, has scored four goals and bagged four assists this season for Valencia.
Sadiq Shows Positive Impact
The Super Eagles came on in the 80th minute for Hugo Duro and had a positive impact in the encounter.
However, the first half was goalless, with both sides having equal chances and playing on a level field. Matters, however, changed in the second half, especially after Barcelona made defensive changes.

After the break, Robert Lewandowski gave the visitor the lead in the 61st minute to silence the home supporters. In the 66th minute, Guerra leveled parity for Valencia with a sublime strike before Rioja extended their lead to 2-1 in the 71st minute.
The host took the game beyond the reach of Barcelona as Rodriguez’s 97th-minute goal made it 3-1 for the host.
Despite all efforts from Barcelona to find their way back into the game, Valencia defended resolutely and picked up the maximum three points at the end of the game.
Sadiq’s Second Coming To Valencia
Sadiq joined La Liga club Valencia on a permanent transfer from Real Sociedad, signing a contract until June 2028.
The 28-year-old forward, who previously impressed on loan at Mestalla with six goals in 19 appearances, finalized the move in January 2026 to bolster Valencia’s attack.
Following the announcement, Sadiq admitted he was elated to join the club, noting that he did everything within his power to ensure the deal was successful.

“I’m very excited and happy. I’ve been waiting since last summer and, finally, I’m here,” Sadiq said.
“I’m the happiest guy in the world. I wanted to come back here; I’ve done everything possible. The club has also made the greatest possible effort. I’m very happy to return.
“Valencia CF is one of the biggest clubs in Spain, and you can feel it in the culture and the people: they never abandon the club.”
Sadiq provided a much-needed attacking boost, with crucial goals and assists in key matches.
