Lookman Scores, Osimhen Marks Return With Assist In Napoli’s Win At Atalanta

Victor Osimhen marked his return from injury with an assist as Napoli beat Atalanta 2-1 in Serie A on Saturday.

Osimhen’s Super Eagles teammate Ademola Lookman got Atalanta’s goal.

Lookman has now scored four goals in 13 league appearances for Atalanta this season.

Osimhen has been out since October after suffering an injury in a friendly game against Saudi Arabia.

Also, it was a winning debut for Napoli new coach Walter Mazzarri who replaced Rudi Garcia who was sacked.

Osimhen, who was named among Napoli’s substitute, was introduced in the 64th minute with the game tied at 1-1.

Kvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring on 44 minutes as he headed in Giovanni Di Lorenzo‘s cross.

Atalanta equalised in the 53rd minute when a cross from the right found Lookman whise towering header ended into the far bottom corner.

Napoli restored their lead in the 79th minute when Osimhen, who had the chance to score but instead rolled the call across for unmarked fellow substitute Eljif Elmas to turn in from six yards at the back post.

The win took Napoli up to third place on 24 points while Atalanta are sixth in the league table.
