Former Super Eagles striker Josh Maja is on the verge of joining Ligue 1 club Le Havre on a free transfer after leaving English Championship side West Bromwich Albion.
According to reports in France, the 27-year-old has agreed to sign a two-year contract with the Normandy-based club, with an option to extend the deal by a further year.
Maja became a free agent earlier this summer after declining West Brom’s offer of a new contract, bringing an end to his three-year spell at The Hawthorns.
The Nigerian joined the Baggies in 2023 following the expiration of his contract with French side Bordeaux.
Although his time at the club was disrupted by recurring injury problems, he still made a significant impact whenever fit.

The striker enjoyed his most productive campaign in the 2024/25 season, finishing as West Brom’s leading scorer with 12 goals despite missing the entire second half of the campaign through injury.
Fitness issues also hampered his debut season in 2023/24 and resurfaced during his final year at the club
Nevertheless, Maja contributed crucial goals under manager James Morrison as the Baggies successfully battled to retain their Championship status.
A return to France would mark a new chapter in Maja’s career, having previously represented Bordeaux in Ligue 1 after beginning his professional journey with Sunderland in England.
Le Havre, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Ligue 1 season, believe Maja’s experience in both French and English football will add quality and depth to their squad.
