New AC Milan coach Max Allegri has confirmed that Luka Modric will join the team for 2025-26 season after the conclusion of the Club World Cup.
Allegri, who was was officially unveiled on Monday, told the club’s website that the veteran midfielder will join the Rossonero in a free transfer.
“We are waiting for Modric to arrive… There is the Club World Cup, he will arrive in August, he is an important and extraordinary player who needs no introduction.

“There is Modric, (Samuele) Ricci, then (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek who in my opinion is a very important player. Then there is (Warren) Bondo, (Youssouf) Fofana… We have excellent players. We will play with the three midfielders, then depending on the characteristics we will take to the field.”
Real Madrid face Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World cup semifinals on Wednesday, with the final scheduled for Sunday.
Modrić, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner, will join a Milan side looking to bounce back from a disappointing campaign that saw them finish eighth and miss out on European competition
