Real Madrid starlet Federico Valverde has reportedly emerged as a summer transfer target for Napoli. Uruguay international Valverde has broken into Madrid’s first team this season, making 11 La Liga appearances to date, but there is still uncertainty surrounding his long-term future at the club.
The 20-year-old’s contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in the summer of 2021 and there are reports claiming Los Blancos are not interesting in offering an extension as things stand. It is rumoured Italian outfit Napoli, who are second in Serie A, are ready to make the most out of the situation and lodge a bid around 18million euros to try and acquire the services of the midfielder.
The Partenopei have a good relationship with Madrid, having done lots of business together over the years, and a deal for Valverde could be on the cards this summer.
