Napoli To Welcome Osimhen’s Late Return After Nigeria’s World Cup Ouster

Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, hasn’t returned to his club SSC Napoli following the Super Eagles’ disappointing 1-1 draw with Ghana that ended Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The Super Eagles were eliminated through away goal rule after playing a 1-1 draw with the Black Stars of Ghana in Abuja in the second leg of their 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers playoffs following a goalless first leg result in Kumasi.

La Gazetta dello Sport reports that Napoli are however not worried about Osimhen’s imminent late return from Nigeria, and he is expected to miss Gli Azzurri’s [The Blues] Serie A away game against Atalanta on Sunday, April 3, 2022..

Napoli have made adequate arrangements for his travelling back to Italy, permitting the delay.

Osimhen has had such issues in the past after going on International duty for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and returning to the Partenopei.

Osimhen scored twice in each of the Napoli’s last two Serie A games before the latest international break – when they won 2-1 at Verona on March 13 and in their 2-1 win over Udinese at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Marcch 19.

The 23 year old has scored 15 goals and recorded four assists in 25 games played for Napoli so far this season, in the Serie A and the Europa League.

  • @monkey post, we might to start ho, sadly enough these set of ppl in the glass house knows how to play mind games and play upon intelligence of se fans.

I read it today in one news paper that amuju had wanted to sack egu immediately after the first leg against Ghana in Kumasi but for
    the timming.

The writer said from a close source to the glass house.

He even said amaju had wanted to let him go since afcon exit but Amaju was prevailed over by some higher authority.

My question is why are we now just getting know about this. Is amaju trying to use egu as a scape goat or what.

Like I said se fan will be cajoule again, very soon you will start hearing that pep gaudiola has recommemded His chef for us to coach se just like Jose did the other time

If Amaju refused to go, Nigerians should make the sport Admi ungovernable. Nobody wants to hear that “l should have done this or that” Amaju MUST GO.
