Nationwide League One Organisers Urged To Tackle Poor Officiating

The management of the Nationwide League One has been enjoined to pay utmost attention to the refereeing unit of the third-tier Nigerian football league .

The call was made by the chairman of an Awka-based club, Udala FC, Chief Martin I. Ekwosi while speaking to Completesports.com in Awka recently.

According to Ekwosi, the quality of teams and players in the Nationwide League One and their level of preparedness to attain more heights are encouraging, but poor officiating could kill all the dreams and scuttle the plans of the organizers of the league if drastic actions are not taken against poor officiating of games.

Chief Ekwosi who took over the management of Udala FC after the death of his elder brother and founder of the club, Chief Nonso (Udala) Ekwosi, maintained that absence of good officiating will stagnate the Nationwide League One and discourage talented amateurs who are aiming to progress to bigger leagues from the NLO.

He commended the Anambra state government for the standard pitch of the Awka City Stadium that now hosts Rangers FC, Udala FC, Aspire FC and the other clubs in Anambra State, pointing out that the facility will change the face of football in the State for good.
