Newly Elected FECAFOOT President Eto’o Punishes Late Comers

Newly elected Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) president Samuel Eto’o punished staff of the football body who turned up late to work.

According to Sport News Africa, Eto’o was said to have sacked a security guard on Tuesday morning as well as left late comers stranded at the entrance of FECAFOOT’s headquarters in Tsinga, Yaounde.

It was reported Eto’o arrived early (6:45 GMT) at the headquarters on Tuesday and ordered the security guard to close the gate at 7:00 GMT. And so not to let in latecomers.

Thus, several employees of the federation who arrived after 8:00 am, remained blocked in front of the entrance before receiving the order to return home.

It would be recalled that on Monday, during his contact tour with his new staff, he had indicated his expectations to staff and his desire to see things change.

He was announced as the federation’s new president on Saturday.

The four-time African Player of the Year’s first major assignment would be a successful hosting of the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.

  • Good start for Samuel Eto and I know some people will castigate him but Eto knows as a player lateness was never tolerated.Lousiness is the best friend of failure and he can not start with it.Making the difference comes with a price,of which stepping on toes, touching some sacred cows and even offending some power brokers. His achievements will tell the story at the end of the day.
He was elected and if those who empowered him with their votes are not comfortible with his cut out way of running things, they can change him by same vote, when his tenure is over. But right now,he is incharge.

I just hope this ur early ginger will help improve football in ur country. Etoo is known for falling out with coaches and ex internationals in his playing days. Had a long feud with legend Roger Mills back then. All the best.

Baba has already hit the ground running.. wish you all the best. Hope to see the results on the pitch.

  • This is the type of leader we need in Africa most expecially in Nigeria. Our main problem is lack of discipline which is also the root of corruption.

    God bless Nigeria.

I dont know if this is right or wrong, however, if you are not a former football player then you have no business heading a footballing office, that’s absurd, but in Nigeria, sport ministry is a political office, which is unbelievable, an engineer or lawyer by profession heading a sport ministry, craziness at the its finest

Being a footballer does not mean you would be a good administrator, your expertise might not necessary be ur degree…
Again how many professional (sport men/athlete) footballers have 1st degree…
Our major issue in Naija is simply corruption…
    Lastly leadership/administration is a different ball game…
    Washing Eto’o the very best
