  • Egonti festus 12 months ago

Starting now, good luck to the flying eagles

  • Bobo Colorado Springs 12 months ago

If we don’t win this match, is going to be difficult qualifying for the next round.

  • Greenturf 12 months ago

Dominican have surprised me I didn’t expect a strong performance from the debutants..They lost 6 nil to the United States and got beat by huge margins in some of their build up games but today they appear to be a strong side.
    They have contested every ball

  • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

9ja just conceded a goal thru penalty. Dominican u20 1 up.

    • I knew that this team will fumble.

When it comes to men football in Nigeria, Until NFF get sense and do the right things always in the area of selecting right coach that will select right players for every competition.

It’s only our women competition that I can watch.

  • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

As much as i would like a huge goal margin defeat of Dominican Republic, at dis point i will gladly accept a 2:1 victory lol.

However, i startrd watching in game at the 25th mins so am not really sure how they did prior to dat. I saw the converted penalty by d Dominicans but we’ve been d better team since i started watching abd understandably so as Dominican Rep no be our mates na. Any victory at dis point is acceotable to me. I know its setting d bar extremely low but anything is possible in football

  • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

Also am not sure why people think Aniogboso is a better goalie than Nathaniel Nwosu. I thought Nwosu was good against Senegal other than some of his wayward deliveries, he was decent

  • Johnson 12 months ago

Nigerian players are just selfish Especially that Sunday jude, on numerous occassions he should pass the damnnnnn ball, just wasting opportunities

  • Johnson 12 months ago

Don’t see this team going far at all, with all this rubbish they playing. The opportunities are there to score but show off is what we seeing

  • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

Mehn dat samson lawal has not improved at all. He is another ogbabido. I think Sunday Jude has been enterprising so far. The opportunities he’s had to shoot, he has which is good. To me his decision making has been good. The new midfielder parnering with Daga is pretty decent as well. Bosso should introduce Eletu for Samson lawal in d 2nd half. 4get jet lag, he is fit and will most likely do better than Lawal

    • Eletu is a defensive midfielder. The only direct replacement for samson lawal would have been ebenezer Akinsanmiro, who was on the bench in today’s match between inter milan v Napoli. I saw him having discussion with Osimhen after the game.

      • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

I get ur point but even the Nnadi can be pushed forward whike Eletu partners Daga. Eletu is a good passer of d ball and can add more value. Nnadi is comfortable in posession and can do d job of Lawal better imho

  • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

But in all honesty sha ooo, brazil go use goal finish Dominican Rep ooo but am not sure italy go fit score many goals but they will surely win tho

  • Johnson 12 months ago

Rubbish 1st half, All am seeing show off from of this players. They not using there brain. We should have scored 6 goals in this match. Selfish is beginning to creep in. Sorry proudly 9ja don’t see what Sunday Jude is doing, he had 2 opportunities to lay down great passes but he would rather shoot, which was needless.

    • Greenturf 12 months ago

You guys think Nigeria is Manchester City that blows away any opposition.
Football has evolved its not as easy you think. Our boys so far have been impressive, they met a fit Demonican side with pace to match our boys, there hardwork have paid off so far.
I expect Nigeria to edge Dominican Republic though.

    • Proudly 9ja 12 months ago

My broda Johnson, we will be songing his praises had those 2 chances gone in. I get ur point ooo but hindsight is always 20/20. He scored a similar goal in d AFCON 3rd place match and people were singing his praise and questioning why he was starting from d bench. U know as most that as a forward when you have a ball in d box, your 2st thought is to make the goalie work which is what he did. There is no way a rashford, mbappe, kane, osihmen ronaldo etc will get a chance like those and not shoot. You may argue that they will most likely convert those chances which isa different conversation but they will always shoot 1st. But i do get ur point tho. We just need to win dis game and see what happens against Italy. We can definitely win dat game against italy but we have to start by 1st getting 3 pts from dis game to put us in a good place mentally.

  • Bosso should play eletu.. he late arrival wasn’t his fault… Remove that Samson and play players on mad form

  • Footballfanatic 12 months ago

www. hesgoaled .com. Link to watch the game..

  • Underating this Dominican side will be suicidal.. that penalty was a poor tackle from a player we see as our best defender.. we can win this game if we play our best game

  • Chibuike 12 months ago

Those players are not talented. You can’t do without Benin players and delta, igbo. Musa and Adamu, mohamed don’t play football. The coach don’t have game plan. His players running up and down without end product. No good top 9, no talented No10

    • Let’s leave tribe pls..

They are just starting and playing their first game… I believe they will surprise us in the second half

    • MuYiwa 12 months ago

Your tribe must full every position before you will like the team na.

    • @chibuike, you aren’that from the truth. Talent in games. The boys are fit but lacked the talents needed to outwit opponents. Delta, Edo, and selected igbo will do the job.

  • Two thing, I like the way the flying eagles live the ball to the opponent half fast unlike the eaglet fake tiki taka, they look compose and improve from the nations cup, don’t tell me it’s bcos we playing Dominican Republic pls. Secondly I love the way the chinko ref. Announcing his final decision after checking the VAR system, that give the audience/fans the opportunity to understand how the decision was made. We should able to win this game.

  • We are playing as if we want to draw this game.

  • Bobo Colorado Springs 12 months ago

    2-1 now, samson lawal

  • respect is reciprocal 12 months ago

Right from the coach to the players they all lack football sense. the coach lacking all ingredients of a coach is not surprising that he picked brainless players all running to kick the same ball at the same time. we fans should just watch for fun. This same coach has failed Nigeria 16 years ago yet he is back again to perform nonsense

  • Emmanuel 12 months ago

What a bunch of wasteful, senseless and selfish sets of players. With what am seeing (individual football) Nigeria is not going far in this tournament except both the coaches and the players charges their approach.

  • Footballfanatic 12 months ago

Regardless if we win this match…..I will advise to lower any expectations of reaching the semi final lol I know it’s too early but….m

  • I beg, I’m not surprised with all the comments so far. After all, it’s not that they were superb at the Nation’s Cup but how’s Eletu’s performance so far? I heard he has entered into the fray.

    • Nothing special. I think he might be overhyped. We will see. The real prospect is Akinsanmiro, who was not able to make it to this tournament. He was on the bench for Inter Milan today against Napoli.

      • Nawa o! Upon AC Milan hype? Upon given him number 10?  Let’s wait and see, he came just yesterday

  • Emmanuel 12 months ago

That JUde Sunday is not a team player! So wasteful and selfish.

    • Yinkus 12 months ago

But many of these players are actually 100m sprinters and not footballer.

How can players be running at all times with speed like as if they are in a relay race.

  • That Bameyi is not a good footballer. He lacks intelligence. Very poor in possession. I wonder how he’s the captain.

    • Don’t even try to Insult him, the Yum Yum guy? No try am o! The player that was prefer to Ebuehi.

  • I have already zero my mind on this team.

  • Let give this boys a chance..

Did you see the Argentina fans giving them a good clap at the end of the game..

I love how elutu came to stabilize the midfield.. that boy is good..

A massive improvement to the team that played in the Afcon.. bosso is not here to joke.. he mean business.. I feel sad we didn’t take Ebenezer the inter guy to this world cup, he would have made a good addition..

Bosso needs to talk some sense to jude Sunday , a good player but so much in a hurry to impress the scout.. let him pass the ball to players in better position so they can score..

Did we notice our star boy beji was silenced today..this Dominican really must have heard of him and had a eye on him.. I was glad we had a sarki on the bench who could cause some trouble..

My Best player today was Sunday he reminds me of Moses Simon.. very similar but he needs to play for the team and not for himself

  • Good game by the way from nigeria. The dominican republic have players playing in elite clubs in europe. They have players play for the likes of real madrid, barcelona, leipzig youth team etc. so credit to the Nigeria team!!!!!

    • Exactly, when I listen to how the commentator mentioning where those guys play, I weak and they play real good, our boys really impress me compare to the trash they play at the nations cup.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 12 months ago

It’s almost as if somebody cursed Nigerian football teams with extremely poor decision making when on the football field (completely moronic passing of the ball) and wasting numerous gift edged chances just because of poor poor final passes and extremely poor finishing – total lack of composure in front of goal and wayward shooting – even where there is an open goal and all that’s need is to simply pass the ball in the net – the 9ja player go somehow find way to balloon the ball..Mehn, all this things just dey tire person!
It is absolutely mind-boggling! It seems as if there is a fundamental problem in their DNA’s and what are the so called coaches doing? Everybody knows that practise makes perfect (it has no choice) so do they not see the glaring prob;ems and try to address them in training?
If you make even a monkey practise shooting on target long enough even the monkey will become deadly in front of goal, Haba! Which way Nigeriaaaa!

  • This team is lacking both tactically n technically. They are just very fit but ordinary players full of running. So much in a rush and typical with all Bosso team, they don’t progress forward compactly as a team. There is always a wide gap between the giver of a pass and receiver. Any really good will kill this team.
Except Bosso do something about this team forward progression by getting them play patiently, we are surely coming back home soon. I can only wish them good luck while hoping they improve in subsequent matches.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 12 months ago

You see as these people dey make person mistype wetin him wan type ehn??
Abeg na “needed” and “these things” o jare – Haba, una no try at all mtcheeew!

  • This Dominican side is a Good team.. we only underate them because of their name .. they have players in good European clubs..

I won’t be surprised if they give Brazil a good game..

We should be grateful for this win ,, teams are improving around the world..

We should give the boys some credit.. I love that our big defender.. so strong.. I won’t be surprised he gets into the super eagles in no time.. but is that boy actually 20? None of my business though..

Frederick should watch it pls.. we don’t need unnecessary penalties at this stage..

Our boys are fit.. we can give Italy a good game.. I need to watch Italy – Brazil this night to know how good they are or they are just overrated based on name

  • Dr. Drey 12 months ago

This team is going nowhere…! That’s all I’ve got to say

    • KENNETH 12 months ago

To hell with you. Why then did you sit to watch the game. Go and burn your TV and don’t come here and say rubbish

    • Emecco 12 months ago

Bro, you can save yourself the stress by stopping to to watch Nigerian football. Even the fans of Southampton , who were rooted at the base of EPL log although the season never wished their team this bad.

  • respect is reciprocal 12 months ago

No way for Nigeria , Italy will beat us and Brazil will annihilate us ,so how do we qualify. The best is to play draw against Brazil or Italy. The problem with our team is organisation and coordination and this boils down to the mentality of our coach who believes in physical training only and leave the rest for the players to solve. As poor as this team is let Siasia handle them you will all see a different team.

  • Worst U20 team in recent years. Know pattern of Play, just doing kick and follow. We miss siasia

    • Papafem 12 months ago

This is not true Bro. Not sure you watched all the previous u20 teams, from 1980 to 2022. From the ones I know, may we never see a team like the one assrmbled by Coach Fanny Amu in 1995.

  • JimmyBall 12 months ago

The only issue I have with these Nigerian coaches, the likes of Lasan Bosso and Fatai Amoo who only attended Nigeria Institute of Sports coaching school only is that they can’t wrap their head around any other playing patterns like 3-4-3,3-5-2, 4-2-3-1 except 4-3-3 and 4-4-2 only even with such poor execution despite… their emphasis is always only on wing play. Just be an opposition that is wise and tricky enough to load the wings and Nigeria’s team becomes useless… We must play the games against Italy and Brazil running for 90minutes and without letting either of Italy or Brazil have space to dictate the tempo and midfield… We must double team their dangerous players just right outside our box 18 each time and in the midfield… We must have numbers in midfield to stand the chance of earning points from those games… I will suggest we play Italy cautiously with a 5-man midfield two of who can make quick breaks through the flanks of we need space in quick transition from midfield to attack… We must play Italy and Brazil cautiously from a tight defence-middiel close-knit structure and jettison fear… Our players must see themselves as Brazil’s equal likewise Italy. Any drop of the ball such that our players consume themselves with fear and trepidation before both games will amount to disaster for us… My take.

  • Papafem 12 months ago

I refuse to condemn the team. This is about the first I saw a Nigerian team winning a match and still being bashed by the fans. But I like their energy, their fighting spirit and their willingness to win. If only the coach can cure them of the usual Nigerian syndrome: players going for glory, wanting to score, even if a simple pass to a team mate could do the job better. Only a technicamky bereft team plays like this. It killed Ugbade’s team. It’s klimg this team too. It’s high time Nigerian coaches are sent abroad for refreshers courses. It’s very hard to see their posituve imprints on their teams these days. So annoying.

  • I’m disappointed Nigerian fans are not encouraging these boys..

There are no easy games anymore in football.. our opponent also had a tough qualifier games..

These are academy boys and they are not doing badly..

We have some good players like that Jude Sunday.. if that boys work on some grey areas of his game he would become the next sane mane.. he plays like a combination of mane and Simon Moses…

Bosso might surprise Nigerians at the end of the day…. Probably if we give Italy a good game Nigerians would start to support this team.. we have be so much disappointed recently by all our teams at all levels.
