  • Nice line up. Lets see what Tanimu brings to the super eagles fold

  • Larry 1 month ago

    Strange selection!
    It doesn’t look Eagles.
    It’s more of a snail-like selection.

    • Tony K 1 month ago

Very strange selection! What happened to Lookman, Moses Simon? Without Trost Ekong I would have thought a more experienced defender like Umeruo should be in defense.I hope Finidi knows what he is doing.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

Rubbish line up – Finidi is already digging a hole for himself, how can you be playing Ghana with their rough house kick and rush gra gra style and be playing Iheanacho, Dessers and Iwobi?? Is that not self sabotage?? Where is the creativity?? Why are Lookman, Simon and Boniface etc not starting?? What about Yusuf, Bassey, Awo etc etc?? Abi na juju be dis?? Kai!!

Okay o! After una lose now we nor go hear word again from those ghanian mongrels.

Na siddon look mode time – don’t say I didn’t warn you!!

    • @Field Awoniyi is injured and Yusuf cannot start ahead of any midfielder in that line-up You guys forget Ndidi is actually the Captain of SE Trrost Ekong just filled in for him at AFCON because of his injury Ndidi was made Captain by Peseiro before his injury. Not to mention he is Nigeria’s best Midfielder in any Continent now in Ball

        Look at this cheap liar…..LMAOoo.

Ndidi is the captain of the SE….?? Troost Ekong just filled in for him at AFCON….??!

Please post the link to the press release/conference where Ndidi was ever unveiled as the new captain of the SE…..LMAOoo.

You must be in a state of severe halluciantion….LMAOoo

        Shameless drug addict…!!!

The only time Ndidi ever got to where a sE armband was when Musa, Ekong, Omeruo, Simon in that order wasn’t starting….LMAOoo. Quit doing drugs…!!!

        • @Dr Bastard you have come again since you have been rambling on like an ingrate you keep insulting your seniors asshole who drag you come this comments animal with no loyalty you were busy assassinating Osayi Character fot showing basic human instinct in a volatile situation you really are a crippled ugly human being Tunde if everybody see how ugly you look in real life they will take you as a non entity you vile peace of dustbin trash na gettat jare you clown of a bastard animal fool.

What has this discussion got to do with Osayi you shameless drug addict…LMAOoo youve taken sọ much cheap drugs you can’t even maintian a line of discussion anymore….LMAOoo

I’ve asked you a simple question, please post the press conference or press release where ndidi was named as the substantive captain of the SE….and now that Ndidi is the new SE captain tell us those who were named as his vice captains…..that Ahmed Musa and Ekong will now be attenting press conferences at AFCON…..LMAOoo. Shameless Liar.

So after captaining the SE vs Guinea Bissau, why didn’t he captain the SE in the very next game which was away to Sierra Leone despite being I the starting line up….LMAOoo…since he has been named the SE substantive captain…LMAOoo. Why did Omeruo return to the starting line up to captain the team, despite Ndidi starting and being the NEW SE Captain according to a mad dog like you

Shameless Liar. It was same you who lied that Ndidi intentionally pulled out of Afcon in protest of injustice….LMAOoo…only for news to break that he would be out for weeks….LMAOoo.
Go and tell your father your lies ehn….LMAOoo.

I repeat….the heirarchy of captaincy in the SE currently is Musa, Ekong, Omeruo, Simon. Ndidi only captains when these 4 aren’t in the starting lineup like today….LMAOoo

Stop being a useless idiot and a cheap lying imbecile.

My loyalty is not the type of fake loyalty useless product of fake condoms like you practice that ends up putting the lives and careers of our players in jeopardy. There were almost 20 players on that pitch in trabzon, but only Osayi turned the pitch into a MMA ring in the full glare of the world and against the code of ethics guiding his profession. If and when the disciplinary committee finds him guilty of misconduct and gives him a fine or ban, I hope your dirty drugs tainted loyalty will prevent him from serving the pulenalties ehn….LMAOoo

            Shameless born by mistake.

Ndidi is now the SE captain….LMAOoo…Ekong only stood in for him at AFCON….go and tell that lie to your father once again.

The day any of Ekong, Omeruo or Simon are in the starting line up, let us see if your new SE captain (LMAOoo) will wear the armband.

  • some one Said Yusuf will start ahead of Ndidi forgetting that Ndidi is our best Midfielder and One of the Captains of this squad.

Would have made more sense to start the likes of Bassey Lookman and Tella too anyway the Lineup is okay a chance to see the players

Nigeria must win. 5.2.1, 5.1.4, 10.0.0, it does not matter. Just win.

  • Chima E Samuels 1 month ago

5:3:2 let’s see how it goes. I like the combination of Kelechi and Dessers then second half we can make a tweak and bring  in pacy ademola and co when Ghanaians are tired. One man’s meat is another poison let’s wish the team well.

  • Papafem 1 month ago

    Any link

    • Chima E Samuels 1 month ago

Dan Kwaku Yeboah tv on YouTube. Nigeria is dominating and leading. For those against the line go take a chill pill change your mindset and observe before you judge.

  • Read on all Nigeria soccer that bassey is injured. Reason for tanimu. I was expecting omerou instead of swaziem starting.

More like 352 as I wrote earlier. Onyemachi and osayi will play as wing backs. That formation suit us these days with the types of players we have.

The three in the middle are strong. Finidi learned something from afcon.

It’s good to see iheanacho and desser. Then second half we see sodiq and ademola.

A brave line up. Coach showed bravery. Let’s wait and see. This is a friendly anyway.

    • Aleks 1 month ago

@Chistrain Ministries in Nigeria, yours is one of the reasonable comments I’ve seen so far today!

  • Ipetu Madu 1 month ago

This Tanimu is top quality. He is far better than most other Super Eagles defenders

    • John-1 1 month ago

I agree, he’s good. I’m impressed with the whole team. I love the freedom they have to express themselves.

      Up Finidi-Ball

  • Ayphillydegreat 1 month ago

    Abeg scire this penalty

  • Ayphillydegreat 1 month ago

Goalll 1-0 Let’s go. Good job by Kelechi to win the penalty from a shot on goal. And he simply hand it to Dessers who politely sends the keeper the wrong way. Ghana are not taking it like a friendly at all.

  • Goooooooooal
Cyriel Dessers sends it to Lawrence to the wrong side. The Nigerian has scored his second goal for the Super Eagles.

  • John-1 1 month ago

This is the mentality I want. You can see how Super Eagles chase Ghanaians and throw in tackles anyhow. That’s how to play Ghana. Dessers was calm with that penalty.
I sincerely hope Nwabali can get a European contract. I love his control from the back and ball distribution.

Guys, if you’re not watching yet, just go to twitter and search Nigeria vs Ghana, several twitter handles are showing it.

    • Chima E Samuels 1 month ago

@John Finidi might take this job if he wins the two friendlies with this dominant brand of football I just witnessed in the first half. We should have been 3 goals up but the team will do better with better communication at the final 3rd.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

Okay, so far so good and by that I am not referring to the 1-nil scoreline but that fact that Ghana have not posed any threat to our goal and this is not even our main first team so we’ll take that but we need to up the stakes second half and make sure that there are no mistakes and also make sure we win by at least a clear 3 goal margin.

    • John-1 1 month ago

This team actually plays better football than the so-called first team. See the confidence and display of passes.

    • Arara Kumbie 1 month ago

@Field my Boobs, see how Iwobi has played well. Learn to respect the players. Even Taminu has done well despite playing in the Sao Tome and Principe league.

  • John-1 1 month ago

I also love the cohesion in the team. In 45 munites, they’ve passed the ball better than they did in the entire Afcon

  • Ayphillydegreat 1 month ago

We dominated the first half and deserve the halftime lead. Kudos to Tanimu, Iwobi, Onyeka the tank, Iheanacho and Ajayi Ogidiolu. Bruno is still not convincing. Nwabali calm in goal as ever. Let’s keep it this way. I want to see some changes in the second half.

  • Watch d match on GFa ghana football association youtube page.its live there..Our own nff tv na rubbish. The boys plsy well in d first half..

  • CHAI GOD IF NDIDI WAS IN AFCON eh We for Control every game the guy is a real Field MArshall

    • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

Iwunze -lol – thank you my broda, you know as e be na hehehe
But jokes aside – I am still saying that Iwobi is short 1!

    • Ndidi and Boniface were big misses at afcon. Very painful. It also disrupted the plans of pesero.

      • Lol @Field no be small o you saw what I did there lol

@CHristian Ministries It was a big Miss not having those guys a team with, Osimhen, Boniface, Ndidi, Bassey and Ekong I mean if Brazil like make dem come I no go send oo

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

Honesty there’s no need for Iwobi in the SE’s – he is short 1, we might as well also be playing with 10 men mtcheew!

    • He didn’t play well…how well do u perform in your field of endeavour. Mumu talk

  • IWOBI IS PLAYING A GOOD GAME!!!!!
NDIDI REMAINS INDISPENSABLE IN THE SE.
BETTER ATTACKING FOOTBALL WITH GREAT CONFIDENCE.

  • I like Finidi I won’t lie. I just hope he carry on selecting the best legs, right now all we need is to blend wait for Osimhen, Boniface, Ekong Return, Awo and maybe Orban if fit and in form the squad make sense.. At least from now until June Qualifiers no too much Distruptions after June We fit blend in any up and Coming special talent that can match the current players.

Finidi please don’t allow Corrupt NFF and NPFL officials enter your head abeg.

    • John-1 1 month ago

Apart from converting the penalty, Dessers didn’t do much. Iheanacho tried to feed him severally but either his slow-pace or slow decision cost him. He’ll fall further the pecking order with Osimhen, Boniface and Awoniyi returning. I hope he grabs the opportunity against Mali.

Anyone comparing Ndidi to Yusuf should stop watching football. This game clearly showed that Nigeria missed Ndidi at the last Afcon. He’s calm and robust in possession

      Iheanacho get ball sense sha!

  • John-1 1 month ago

This the best Super Eagles performance I’ve seen in many years against Ghana. Total football by Finidi. See how the passes flows from defence to attack. Abeg NFF, give Finidi the job permanently.

    Full-time: Nigeria 2-1 Ghana

    • Because Nigeria won the next is to give Finidi the job.

What stop him from starting the match with Lookman and Desser.

I don’t expect him to pull out Ndidi. I was also expecting him to replace the defender that got injured with Omeruo.

Finidi should just be assistance to Emuneke.

    • Yes @John-1 I agree with you Finidi should be given a chance let us make that Full judgement after Mali let us not forget Mali is currently a stronger squad than Ghana and will give us a tougher test, If Finidi win that game then no doubt he must be given the chance however the minute we start hearing him talking about blending 5 or 6 NPFL players in SE we are finished and back to square 1 however I think he has been assistant to Peseiro and Rohr long enough and Eguavoen and I think finidi Believes like we do that our Talents are based Abroad. Let us see after Mali but So far so good.

P.s. This match has shown that Peseiro was too reserved and had he allowed the boys more room to express themselves in the Final at AFCON and given Iheanacho a better chance in AFCON we may have won that final.

I am rooting for Finidi to beat Mali and take the post of SE at least until Renard become available after July.

Come on Super Eagles at least you gave Our Wives Banku Republic wotowoto today lol

      • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

Well said! I can’t add anything to that

    • Daniel 1 month ago

Finito always a goof footballer, I believe he will do well if corupt NFF won’t confuse him

  • pompei 1 month ago

    I’m confused.
Shebi they said Nigeria is there daily bread?
Na wetin come happen today? Abi dem forget to buy egg and sardines wey dem go take chop bread?
We played well, but last minute loss of focus nearly unraveled all the previous good work. Tanimu showed that his invite was deserved. Very assured debut performance. Nwabali for now remains the undisputed number one. Some shots he saved today, if it was someone else in goal, I won’t mention his name, we for they talk another thing by now.
The difference between this team and the Afcon team is that we had an extra central midfielder, so Onyeka was not overworked. Onyedika came in for the impressive Ndidi and also did very well.
We created chances, but still struggle to convert. The finishing has to be better.
Defense was solid. With this group of players, the defense is usually stronger when they play with 3 center backs.

    • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

My guy even during the game some of those scatterbrains were still there yabbing and calling us Super Chickens – So which one is worse? You who your bad belle detractor haters are calling Super Chickens or you who the same Super Chickens are wifing and flogging woto woto? loo Abeg help me ask them which one is worse? hehehe
      Talk about mumu’s lol

      • pompei 1 month ago

Hehehe, dem for collect even more today, if not for our poor finishing.
That’s an area Finidi needs to work on. We need to be converting more of our opportunities.

        • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

True story – although I don’t think that this is our actual starting 11 (at least I am hoping it’s not), there was a feeling that Finidi played a weakened 11, although one could still say even then, that the problem of converting our chances is an ongoing one even with our big guns up front so yes – we really need to work on our finishing.

        • John-1 1 month ago

Pompei – Yes. That Dessers guy wasted chances, one being a sitter. This is a match Osimhen should’ve played. Creativity wasnt our problem today, finishing was.

  • Ayphillydegreat 1 month ago

That casual pass from Iwobi to set Lookman was sumptuous. It was a fun game to watch. Finidi tried but he can’t get the job. He will only be an assistant to a foreign coach or another angle be assisted by a foreign coach. We went to Morocco without a fitness trainer. Thank goodness our players are coming from Europe and they’ve been match fit coming in and the distance to Morocco was a stone throw for most of them. We seems to on the ascendancy from the AFCON success and I hope we continue like this especially by the time we face SA in June. The next game against Mali will be highly anticipated. Good game and kudos to the SuperEagles.

FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE.

  • Babd2 1 month ago

I believe it would be worth considering Ejuke for the midfield position as he has shown significant improvement. He has reduced his dribbling tendencies, and I have been closely observing his performances with Antwerp. Go take a look at his statistics against Barcelona. On the other hand, I think we have already witnessed the best of Iwobi’s abilities. It’s important to recognize that one cannot give what they do not have.

  • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

Bright Osayi-Samuel needs to be calming down! he brought all that gra gra with him from Turkey – the fact that they banned him 10 games no reach, he still come here come cost us penalty and clean sheet kai!

Finidi should tell him to be taking chill pill anytime he starts to see red mist ke? Abi na which kind surutu be that?

Anyway, at least we should have avoided an infestation of pests from Ghanland – We thank God for that, some peace and quiet! Those Ghanains have got no chill in them at all! Maybe it’s all that nasty kenke and banku wey dey raise them blood pressure lool!

Up SE’s! Oya let’s gooo and take care of bizniss with Uganda abi na who we dey play again self.

  • Kenneth 1 month ago

Where is that Narcissist, Nwabali is here to stay, you can offer Okoye to your PE teacher next door, let him help him win matches with games to spare. Am sorry Osayi is not better than Ebuhei, he is not a team player, soccer is not about gra gra, imagining trying to go around 3 players, wasn’t shocked he caused a penalty.Great game, good to see new faces, i hope all those making a case for paseiro can see a different style today. Kelechi came out to prove a point, his passes were excellent. Was one of those that was critical of iwobi and today he showed his real self. Next Afcon is ours to

    • Field Marshall. General. Sir Johnbob 1 month ago

My guy there’s nothing personal in the Iwobi thing – nobody hates him and we all know he can pass a ball forward but apart from that all he adds to the team is sideways passing – pass me I pass you, 1-2 touch football, nothing progressive or penetrative about that but his BIGGEST weakness and what can and has cost the team in the past and certainly at the AFCON is his complete and utter lack of ANY type of tackling or putting up any type of resistance to the oncoming opposition – it doesn’t matter whether they are attackers, midfielders or forwards, he just runs around pretending to be around the action but will NEVER put a foot out in challenge and the opposition always runs past him without any resistance whatsoever! That is extremely annoying and very dangerous for the team. I hope Finidi realises this ASAP and does not try to do Okocha nay favours to continue playing him because he is JJ’s nephew – we REALLY do not need him in the team unless he starts bloody tackling”!

The other thing I wanted to mention was that we need to be careful with this PLAYING OUT FROM THE BACK thing we were doing today.
Yes, we did it well today, but on a few occasions, we were fortunate not to turn over possession in our vital area! Nwabali seems to be always looking to play our from the back, and he was almost closed down a few times. He should beware, lest what happened to Okoye against Algeria team B could befall him also.
Playing out from the back is the most common way teams conceded unnecessary goals nowadays. Let’s be careful not to make costly mistakes!

  • John-1 1 month ago

It’s amazing how some naysayers attributed Nwabali’s AFCON heroics to good defence lol. The guy is a top-class keeper. He showed it to today with some spectacular saves against our fiercest rival. His command and ball distribution is impeccable. Nwabali is a giant!

    • Ipetu Madu 1 month ago

      You are so right @Johnbull,
Nwabili is too good. He did well today. Good result for Nigeria.

    • pompei 1 month ago

Nwabali is a fantastic goalkeeper. That is just the truth.

      • Golden Child 1 month ago

Good game! we should rest on our oars , inject Arthur Okonkwo in to the team asap. Nwabali is good but so is Okonkwo.

If there is one disappointment with this list for the double header friendlies is that we did not invite Okonkwo but continued with Uzoho. Now barring injuries, it is certain that he will be included for the WC qualifiers and God forbid that Nwabali picks an injury; we can kiss the world cup goodbye.

One of the reasons why I did not want Peseiro to continue is that he did not appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed. I understand he drew up the list for the friendlies and did not bother to try Okonkwo. Build competition in the squad, let it be fierce but instead, he was happy to continue with an inactive Uzoho …hiss.

    • Footballfanatic 1 month ago

He will only get better as gKs get better with age unlike some outfield players

  • Garre 1 month ago

Paseiro or whatever his name is caused us to lose the Afcon. Anyway i never had faith in him. His style of play was nothing to write home about and also made us lose out on Michael Folorunsho the Napoli loan midfielder as his agent accused paseiro of not picking his calls before the Afcon. And i guess he didn’t want to include him because he had collected bribe to go to Ivory Coast with mediocre players.
