Defending champions Rangers will begin the defence of their Nigeria Premier Football League ,NPFL, title with a home game against Katsina United, Completesports.com reports.
The encounter is scheduled to take place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, popularly known as the ‘Cathedral’, in Enugu on Sunday, 30 August 2026.
The Flying Antelopes claimed the NPFL title for the ninth time last season, and will be looking to make a strong start to their title defence.
Meanwhile, former champions Shooting Stars will face newly promoted Inter Lagos in the opening fixture of the 2026/27 NPFL season.
The South-West derby will take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, on Friday, 28 August 2026.
The encounter will mark Inter Lagos’ first-ever appearance in the Nigerian top flight following their promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season.
The remaining Matchday One fixtures will be played across different venues on Sunday, 30 August.
