Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has announced cash incentives for the state’s athletes that will compete at the 2024 National Sports Festival tagged ”Gateway Games”.
Gold medalists, according to Abiodun will receive N2.5m each, Silver medalists will be awarded ₦1.5m each, while Bronze medalists will get N1m each.
Similarly, all the accredited athletes representing Ogun State will receive N50,000 as gesture of appreciation for their hard work and commitment to excellence.

“We are proud of every athlete who has qualified to wear the Ogun State colours. They are the best of the best, and we will not let their dedication go unnoticed,” Abiodun stated.
He emphasized that, as professionals in politics, his administration believes in making and keeping promises, especially when it comes to empowering young talents and promoting excellence.
The announcement has been met with excitement across the sports community and is expected to serve as a strong incentive for Team Ogun to deliver outstanding performances at the festival.
