Chibuike Nwaiwu has expressed his disappointment following Trabzonspor’s 1-0 defeat to Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig, Completesports.com reports.
The Black Sea Storm suffered the narrow loss away from home on Sunday, with Rajmund Tóth scoring the only goal of the encounter just two minutes into the game.
Trabzonspor created several opportunities to get back into the match but were unable to convert their chances, allowing Konyaspor to hold on for all three points.
Reflecting on the defeat, Nwaiwu thanked the travelling supporters while admitting that his side were left frustrated by their inability to make their chances count.

“I always want to say this: I thank our fans who came all the way here. Football is like that; sometimes you can’t take advantage of opportunities, while your opponent takes advantage of the opportunities they get,” he told A Spor.
The Nigerian defender also admitted that the result had taken a heavy emotional toll on the team.
“Actually, I’m very angry and very sad right now. It was a very demoralising defeat for all of us,” he added.
Trabzonspor will have an opportunity to bounce back when they host defending champions Galatasaray on Saturday.
