Nwakaeme’s Goal Not Enough As Kayserispor Edge Trabzonspor To Reach Turkish Cup Final

Anthony Nwakaeme was on target for target for Trabzonspor but it was not enough, as they lost 4-2 away to Kayserispor in the second leg of the Turkish Cup semi-final on Tuesday.

Trabzonspor went into the game 1-0 ahead from the first leg, but two goals in stoppage time, saw Kayserispor go through 4-3 on aggregate.

Nwakaeme had given Trabzonspor the perfect start when he scored from the penalty spot just three minutes into the game.

Three minutes into the second half Kayserispor equalised thanks to Emrah Bassan before Majid Hosseini made it 2-1 to the hosts.

With eight minutes left Trabzonspor equalised through Anastosios Bakasetas.

But Kayserispor went 3-2 up following a 91st minute penalty scored by Mame Baba Thiam.

And in the 96th minute Bassan got his second goal and Kayserispor’s fourth to send them through to the final.

Kayserispor will now take on either Chidozie Awaziem’s Alanyaspor or Olanrewaju Kayode’s Sivasspor in the final scheduled for Thursday, 26 May 2022.

The second leg semi-final clash between Sivasspor and Alanyaspor comes up on Wednesday, 11 May.

Kayode’s Sivasspor go into the reverse fixture with a 2-1 lead which they recorded away.

Recall Nwakaeme and his Trabzonspor had already been crowned champions of the Turkish Super Lig for this season.
