Okowa Splashes $60,000 On Super Eagles For Seychelles, Egypt Wins

The Super Eagles have been rewarded with $60,000 by Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa for the wins against the Pirates of Seychelles and Pharaohs of Egypt, Completesports.com reports.

The players will share $50,000, while head coach of the side, Gernot Rohr will pocket the remaining $10,000 with his assistants, Completesports.com gathered.

Rohr’s charges defeated Seychelles 3-1 in their last Group E match of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last Friday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

Odion Ighalo who finished as top scorer in the qualifiers with seven goals, Henry Onyekuru and Moses Simon got the goals in the game.

The three-time African champions recorded a slim 1-0 victory against Egypt in friendly game at the same venue on Tuesday.

FC Midtylland of Denmark forward Paul Onuachu scored the winning goal about eight seconds into the game.

It was Onuachu’s first goal in his first start for the Super Eagles.

Next time use your show off cash to upgrade state property dumbass African leaders!

Is this bribery for the SE to return to Asaba and play in a substandard stadium? NFF beware, this free cash is a bait to drag our football back. It’s just like accepting a plate of nicely prepared fish from a “kind” woman and then screaming 10 minutes later to be taken to hospital because the fish bone is in your neck! Time for SE fans to rise up against Amaju Pinnick. He has joined the deceptive camp and is taking us back. RETURN TO UYO, OR LET’S SEE YOUR BACK.

Hopefully Governor Okowa will be told it doesn’t cost a huge amount of US$ to bring the playing surface to international standard

…and another $100,000 to Pinnick and his boys at the NFF.

Took my time profoundly to analyse every super eagles players during the match my observations especially on John Ogu was incredible.
Sadly,he doesnt get the credit he deserves. His performance was amazing the way he turns and pass accurately was phenomenal yet he doesn’t get lauded by Journalists and fans really sad.In my opinion I think Ogu Ndidi and Mikel should anchor the midfield in Egypt.
Honestly, the aforementioned trio are the best we have for now.

Ogu has been a good player both in attitude and on play but it the loud mouths like Agu, Akpeyi or Sadiq Umar that will make the biggest noise if ignored

    • I seconded in your opinion of a three man midfield of ndidi, mikel and ogu. It reminds me of our match vs Argentina in November 20017 which we won 4-2.it was a strong midfield. I will advise Rohr to practice more on set pieces and not give etebo that responsibility which I think is bigger than him for now, someone else can do that.

    • You just spoke my mind about Ogu. He is a super midfielder. Very powerful. Reminds me of that Cameroonian power house in the midfield, Mac Vivien foe of blessed memory. But please take Mikel name out of there. We don’t need him. His presence is going to bring disunity n he also slows down Super eagles play. I honestly don’t understand this calling out of a player who doesn’t even care about SE. Truth is, loads of ds present SE players don’t want Mikel back, they just don’t wanna spk out for fear of been labelled a wrong name.

Rohr is placing Etebo to please Pinnick. He doesn’t deserve to be playing for Nigeria looking at the way Etebo is performing today. Admittedly, 60.000 USD is huge as it helps to galvanize and encourage the National players to work hard when they put on the National jerseys. However, the sport loving Governor of Niger Delta should by all means be told in no ambiguous language, that the Nigerian people would forever glorify his name if he can spend just half a million dollars to bring his pet dream Stadium to the International standard just like Uyo, then the Nigerian people everywhere will glorify is his name forever.
Let me hope that Edo State Governor takes note of how he should lay emphasis on making playing field structure the sole core by constructing the turf/size to a very high international standard as he try’s to rebuild the Ogbemudia stadium which is on-going in Benin City. May God Bless all and any Governor who loves sport in our modern Nigeria.
