Olayinka has done enough to get a well deserved call up for the super eagles next games against the squirrels of Benin republic and Lesotho respectively.
Musa has not played club football for a couple of months now so a great opportunity for Peter Olayinka to take Musa’s place.Though we have Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu in the same position and the gaffer says he won’t be experimenting because of how important the two games are for Nigeria.
Well Peter should keep up the hard work. He’s getting close,if it didn’t happen now it would soon.
Peter indeed merits a place in the AFCON roaster proper should Nigeria qualify which we will In Shaa Allah. He deserves a spot he’s proven to be a national material and being an integral part of a strong European team like Slavia Prague is no fluke keep up the hard work bro God never disappoints a hard worker you merit it Peter.
You said you guys will beat Leicester and you did congrats. Its sad that Rodgers hasnt found the winning formula to Europa success. For olayinka being called to the Super Eagles, I think the league he plays for has affected his chances. He is a good player, strong and tenacious but the coach of the Super Eagles mostly pick players based on familiarity, club, necessity and performance. So I dont think he may be invited this time around.
I really wished this humble and hard-working guy could move to a better and reputable league in January but it didn’t happen…
Of course, Olayinka is the kind of player will need in our national team. Fearless, harddworking, determined, focus and always seems ready for the task ahead of him.
Wished Yinka a very good and worthy transfer in the summer.
@Abdulhandsy… Moving to another league shohuld not be the criteria to invite him to Super Eagles. It’s clearly politics that is keeping him out… When an Ahmed Musa who is clubless for months is being touted to be invited… if a move to a more renown league happens for him then fine, if not still good. He plays every week and is always in the team… His team beat the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and now Leicester, so it’s no fluke. His team is good and their league though less fancied, I am sure has teams stronger than those in Belgium. If people playing in Belgium league are getting invited, why not one like Peter Olayinka… Gernot Rohr is only loyal to certain players at all cost even though there others who are performing better than them. Let’s see how Rohrs body language will look like when he needs to start two central defenders between Akpoguma, Ekong, and Balogun. A coach with an eye for quality player will even invite Tosin Adarabioyo now… That guy clearly towers above Akpoguma and Ekong.
@Jimmyball, let me explain something to you so you can understand:
Football is a team game, requires good team chemistry which the team builds up over time. The more time a team spend together, the better they gel and become more productive. Now, if one of the team player has lost form or injured, then he can be replaced with someone in the pool, however if he only changes club to another league that is less fancied, this doesn’t reduce his skills or his usefulness to the National team as long as he is still productive. A new invitee however needs to prove that he’s much better than the ones currently in the team to displace any player. Shuffling teams every now and then destabilise the team chemistry and less productive. That’s why there are only 2 transfer windows in a year for club sides so they have enough time to creat that chemistry. Ighalo played in china when he became top goal scorer in both AFCON qualifier and AFCON proper. Imagine if he was dropped from AFCON team for Onuahudowsky then?
But sadly, no every forumite reasons the way you do.
A big thumbs up @ Dr Banks. Always refreshing to read comments like yours. God bless.
@Dr.Banks… No one is asking for the whole team to be overhauled. But clearly we have guys knocking loudly that they can no longer be ignored. Brother… for now Super Eagles is average that’s why they are 5th in Africa. We having qualities popping up who can whip-up better end results for the team… in my opinion. Based on your team chemistry matter… Don’t shout when Musa starts our next game Sha… Unto chemistry!
Olayinka is the most wonderful player
