The fear of Victor Osimhen appears to be the beginning of wisdom for a few supporters of the Black Stars who have labelled the Super Eagles attacker a ‘beast in front of goal’.
Ghana will play host to Nigeria in the first leg of the all-important Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Friday night.
Ghanaian reporters on Tuesday mentioned the Super Eagles attack with Odion Ighalo, Osimhen and Umar Sadiq having been scoring goals for their respective clubs this season.
Complete Sports thereafter went to town on Wednesday to speak with a few Ghanaian football fans to ask what they felt about the Super Eagles attack in comparison to Black Stars’.
Sylvester simply said “For me, the Nigerian player who I am afraid of the most is none other than the Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen who is nothing but a beast in front of goal.
“That guy has got everything it takes to be a world-class striker, the way he always wants to fight for every ball and just look at his conversion rate, he is up there with the best.

“To me, he is the player I fear most in the Super Eagles. People have been talking about Odion Ighalo too but if you ask me, I don’t fear him as he is no longer the same striker I used to know.
“Forget about the fact he has scored lots of goals in Saudi Arabia, that is a small league. The other Nigerian strikers I am scared of are Almeria’s Umar Sadiq and Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis.”
Another Ghanaian football faithful, Duncan Adjoa also made mention of Osimhen, saying “I am so ashamed to say it but the Black Stars do not have any striker who is as good as Osimhen right now.
“To me, the game on Friday will end in a 1-1 draw because I really don’t know who will score the goals for the Black Stars, but Nigeria can boast of a great number nine in the person of Osimhen.”
Osimhen only on Saturday made Serie A history for Napoli following in the footsteps of fellow African football legends such as the trio of George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Mohamed Salah.
The Nigerian international bagged his second consecutive brace in Napoli’s 2-1 victory against Udinese after Hellas Verona, taking his total for the Serie A campaign to eleven goals.
This also makes him the first ever Nigerian player to achieve double figures in two consecutive Serie A seasons for Napoli. Osimhen has already done better than he’d did in his debut season in the Italian league.

Lol. That fear now make them to start embracing another country’s flag. I wish I could decode some.
He is even restless in generating new ideas. Wish he knew the strength of his country, Nigeria.
If he wasn’t such a fool, he should’ve been residing our National Anthem.
Lol mind games!! Ghana traditionally a team of midfielders! The mind games is still working
Mumu na fans dey play mind game.
Sure, what do you expect from fans who already knows their fate even before Friday and Tuesday, anyway,I pity ghana defence tomorrow, with osimhen,Dennis, chukweze, moses, and lookman upfront.lets watch and see.
This is where the technical ability or prowess of Mr technical adviser comes into play. Osimhen is becoming a clear target on the minds of these banku eaters and hence they’d do everything in their power to see that he got marked out. I think, strategy needs to be changed probably throwing ighalo and nacho in first and then bring in oosimhen after their defenders have been run down and overworked thereby thwarting their plans of focusing on osimhen as our marksman. Egu, think, think, think!!!!! Give them that surprise package just like u did to the Egyptians at the nations cup. Use ur head. The opinion on the streets of these banku eaters represents the squarely the mindset of their backroom staff regarding our team esp osimhen.
Eya.
Monday, see na? I earlier told you our coach Egu’ will soon have too many advisers. This is why I like reading instead of commenting.
Whoever turned you to a Ghanaian didn’t mean well. Hopefully, your parents are on their knees. Go se.
He seems to have forgotten his latest flag.
He is a ‘many’ person but seems to have forgotten his latest flag. Let’s be reading.
No. He has gone to look for Thomas partey’s video clips to show proud Nigerians.
@Monday, he doesn’t know proud Nigerians only decided to keep am quite since. Meanwhile, is that supposed to be our Osimhen?
That must be our Osimhen being discussed on the eve of Nigeria all important match…
Hopefully, the eve of this football meeting at BabaYara
Stadium ️ is not lost on Nigerians and their neighbors. Let’s not be confused as we join hands with Osimhen to score three goals tomorrow.
And Iheanacho is capable of scoring five against Black Stars.
I won’t be surprised if the Ghanaian players marked down Osimhen. Is there any other question? For sure that is what is going to happen on Friday.
Dessers can adapt quickly but Sodiq can’t.
I have warned coach Eguavoen and his assistants on this, Ghanaian fans were not Nigerians and they identified Ighalo too well.
Ighalo will disgrace himself against Ghana. Akpoborie also said the same thing about Ighalo.
We only have two strikers in that team which which happened to be Osimhen and Umar Sodiq.
Dessers would have made the list instead of Ighalo.
Let assumed Dessers made the list, the coaching would have changed their tactics by using Dessers in the first half instead of Osimhen and in the second half, Osimhen will come in.
But our coaches have letting Amaju the “chief dictator” to force Ighalo on them agin and it may backfire.
Nobody is talking about Ighalo and I hope Edoman is watching?
Our attackers needs energy, strength, stamina and accurate shots against Ghana.
If Ighalo lead the attack in the first half of the match against Ghana, the chances are very slim to score goals while Sodiq is still new to the team. Ah, the coaching crew have shooting themselves in the foot.
They can’t stand their ground when it comes too NFF and our local coaches have letting themselves down big time. NFF will never value them. What a shame. I will rather quit instead to tarnish my name because of NFF.
Noble that is injured is part of the team now while Adeleye and Osagwe have bn overlooked again. Too bad. Well, what do I know. Fingers crossed. Good luck to Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!

Don’t be deluded for it’s only strategic.
Baba Kemute must be a prophet then. I almost thought it was lost.
You can’t just be shouting around about a player like that just bcos of club performance. Is this not how you have being shouting about Sadiq before his invitation, buh now you are not seeing him as a player who can help the team. Let me brake down somethings for you, their are some players that grow into the team, you don’t just expect much from them in their first link up into the team just like Sadiq, if you look at Sadiq very well you will know he’s a great tallent that with more games will gel well with the team. He may need to understand the players and the players may need to understand him too. I am saying this bcos of how you were shouting Sadiq that time and still shouting another player in a crucial moment except the players are exceptional and the player will not even start the match, he will start from bench just like Lookman and Dennis. Usually you introduce a player into the team during friendlies. Attacking position is sensitive.
When is our line up coming out?
We’ve got only few hours and by the way, which one is our lineup?
Whatever line up coach Eguavoen is coming up with, I don’t kia. I just want our coach to field his’ best players.
I hope Eguavoen will take an action on this attention on Osimhen by selling a dummy to the Ghanaians.
Osimhen being double Teamed will work in Nigeria’s favour for 2 very good reasons
1. It will give other lethal attackers space to punish Ghana
2. If Osimhen can out Maneuver that Double teaming then We have a situation where Ghana will not have room to breathe.
