Osimhen Is Not Dull Like Lukaku -Paolo Di Canio

Former West Ham and Juventus forward, Paolo Di Canio has described Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen as a striker with a different spirit that is not dull like Romelu Lukaku.

Di Canio made this known in an interview with Sky Sports Italia’s Calcio Club, where he slammed the Belgian international for his recent goal drought at Chelsea despite his early goal scoring form in the Premier League.

He claimed that Osimhen can not be compared to Lukaku because the Nigerian international is not dull like him in front of goal.

“I heard [Inter icon turned pundit Giuseppe] Bergomi comparing [Victor] Osimhen and Lukaku. But Osimhen has a different spirit, he’s not dull like him,” Di Canio told Sky Sports Italia’s Calcio Club.

“When the difficulty increased, he scored no goals in five games with Chelsea. And it’s not Chelsea’s fault, they are top of the table even without his goals.”

“They are top of the table even without his goals.” wao wao wao. Luka-luka do something or come join our winning team.

  • We are looking at his application at the moment but remember, he is good at changing handles a reflection of a certain quarter. Nymar can only be compared to osimen and not the other way round.
    Lukaku no reach.

    • Which one is Neyman and osimhen comparisons again? How do this two match?

  • Deji oguntunde 3 years ago

Osimhen is still an upcoming striker while Lukaku is world class. The comparison between these two players doesn’t make sense to me.

    • Footballfanatic 3 years ago

I hope Osimehn is numb to all these hype and just keep working hard and keeping his head down. The world of football is cruel when not in form or when you miss crucial goals. The same people singing his praises won’t be there to lift him up when the chips are down. All these crazy people didn’t see no potentials in him even when he created a record of 10 goals at the u17 which is the highest number of goals ever scored by an u17 player in the tournament. Real fans saw this potential long ago. Keep your head down and keep working hard and ignore these hypes.

      • Someone needs to make sure V. Osimhem gets this message.

Very crucial if he’s to be a long-term champion.

      • Make osimhen no score for 4 games same ppl praising him now will say he is rubbish.

        Na oyinbo way

We need to go easy on Victor Osimhen, the guy is hungry to play at the highest level, to be the best. But he is still developing. A major standout for him is his fighting spirit on and off d ball for d duration of 90mins.

His long range shoting is suspect. His dribbles are not flawless. And we see that he makes up for all dis defects with his pace nd strength to fight for every ball.

    • About long-range shooting ability, he scored one last season for Napoli, but it wasn’t too fantastic, but it was from well outside the box..

He’ll definitely get there, if he keeps working hard.

Well said@footballfantastic. On current form I don’t know what makes Lukaku better than Osihmen. No team coach with correct senses will bench Osimhen for Lukaku any time , anyday..I heard Deji Ogutunde saying Lukaku is world class while Osihmen is not..@Deji Ogutunde ,are u normal .what is Lukaku stat when he was 17 and 22yrs ..even on current form ,keeping age aside what is their stat..The only player now that can Offer what Osimhem offers his team is Hallaan ..and I have no apologies for narrowing it down to the two.

      (Deji ‘Okoro’ Oguntunde’)
That’s a new handle of an agitated certain quarter. It must be okoro or nothing mentality. However, the Nigerian, Osimhen is towering higher in each and every game.

You need to do this investigation yourself. Find out about Lukaku and get back to us. You will see that Lukaku is qualified to be tagged world class. Even Mo salah is yet to equal Lukaku number of goals and that is a fact. It’s all about consistency.

Napoli Osimhen knows how to hurt opponent, Cannavaro.

If I am Osinhem, I won’t listen to this guys oooo. Osinhem is good no doubt but comparing him with Lukaku should not come up.

Victor, just keep improving, no dey listen to Hossana today and crucify him tomorrow guys. I remember during the early season, some of them already term him preseason player, now, they have moved into the next “no dull like xyz” I don’t want that kind of bad energy around him.

  • Kells 3 years ago

It wasn’t just the goal for the striker, though, but the aggressive ball-carrying and inclination to run at any defence makes Victor Osimhen different from the Lukakus who are majorly dull. The competition for the best World no9 is between Osimhen and Neymar.

  • Matthew Omonor 3 years ago

With an accumulation of goals and the yesterday’s towering header, the Nigerian, Victor Osimhen has most certainly announced his arrival on the global stage officially as he is now being compared to the Brazilian, Neymar. With back-to-back eye-catching performances for the Partenopei, the Super Eagles striker is now proving to his doubters exactly why he is being penciled down as one of the World best striker of all time. Lukaku apart from being dull, is still doing the catch up from behind and can’t be in such bracket.

  • Stanley 3 years ago

@Charles, does that mean their new agitated handles are hurt because of the Nigerian towering performance? Tell, go look for another country since is not comfortable here. Up Nigeria

  • Bolade Anjorin 3 years ago

@Kells, hu hu hu, it’s like we are still agitating.

    • Kells 3 years ago

Unna mheen, na lefuradum or we secede, did you notice to type Up! Up!! Nigeria is difficult from a certain quarter? Occupied tins.

  • Larry D 3 years ago

It’s amazing to win, for all of us. It was an incredible atmosphere. We deserved to win, also for the statistics today and in general for the whole season. This championship is not easy, we have to continue like this, without stopping, Osimhen talking.

  • Jide Olando 3 years ago

Osimhen is not dull like Lukaku that is a statement of fact. Victor Osimhen scored a beautiful goal that shook the World should be a thing of Joy for true Nigerians nah. @Am angry, reading without commenting is allowed o.

  • Victor osimhen is not a player that hyping or praises will make him relax rather it will spur him up to do exploits……. Osimhen does well when the limelight is on him…… Osimhen does well when alot of expectation is on his shoulder…… Osimhen actually needs the hype…… You need to see the fans chanting his name yesterday….. Osimhen is so highly rated in Italy and many experience Italian players and coaches have come out to openly marvel at this rare breed of striker……The legendary Zola called him a complete striker….. Legendary De Stefano called him a tireless war horse……Matzarri rated him higher than Cavani…….And the list goes on…….. and all of a sudden Osimhen is on fire after all the hypes and people still say they should go easy on him…….. Osimhen does well when there is hype and expectations hanging on his neck……..He lacked all these in Wolvesburg hence his miserable spell there……..Lille and Charleroi also gave him that and he exploded there……..Napoli denied him these attention last season and we all saw what happened…….Now Spalleti,Napoli and SeriaA has given him the ingredients he needs and we are seeing the results some people have arrived to preach their negativity sermon here……..Abeg the hypes and attention should continue osimhen needs it.

Be calm boy and do your thing. After watching ur match yesterday i have started seeing you from a different angle. You are made for the top but not yet there. One or two bad games people singing your praises especially nigeria supporters will say unimaginable things about you. Most of them are fair-weather friends. Remember many blamed you just last week when we lost against CAR even the one we won they still critisised you. I have no doubt that someday you will be among the very best strikers in the world so far injury is avoided. You are a fearless striker, a 90mins player just continue to work hard. Yesterday i noticed you have made some changes already and that is not shooting aimlessly always looking for free players to pass ball to. Keep it up! Lets go for African footballer of the year from there anything can happen. Welcome to senior boys club. I love you.

  • @Kells, I have read all the comments….. It was supposed to be bitter but you made the truth so sweet…. Still work in progress….Now is that need to add Up! Up!! Nigeria…. You know Osimhen is now the striker to rule the World and we from that quarter are at the front burner preaching. God luck 0sigoooals, God bless Nigeria.

  • This is one of the jobless ex player we are saying. What is the basis for comparism now? And for fans celebrating like he has won a balloon D’ it had better for Oshimen to concentrate on his rather than this worthless praise. Lukaku coach isn’t complaining and not his fault for having a drought intact every striker do have that.

You’re just a worthless bitter Chelsea addict speaking in the rubbish as usual ever since I know you on this site.

If you don’t hype your country man, who will you hype bastard.

Hu hu hu hu, read between the lines, na bitter tribalist. Go read his comments about those from that certain quarter.

Haven watched Napoli vs Torino earlier today and venezia vs fiorentina tonight with my focus solely on Aina and ebuehi, I am good to say that defensively and offensively TYRONE EBUEHI is better than OLA AINA.

When I noticed that he was going to the serie-A during the summer I was a bit skeptical due to his body frame and strength but this night I am very impressed because EBUEHI has really worked on his body and he has gathered and added a lot of strength .. even the commentators couldn’t help it but to shower an encomiums on HIM…

With super eagles: EBUEHI IS RELIABLE!

You people should stop being stupid and delusional. Osimhen is very good, but he never reach Lukaku pedigree.
Every body is talking about the goal against Torino. What of the open net he missed against CAR? Will Lukaku miss such a chance?
Una just dey hear dey yarn nonsense. Osimhen should continue to hustle. He will hopefully pass Lukaku. But for now, Lukaku pass am. Truth is bitter.
