Osimhen Joins Sporting Charleroi On Permanent Deal From Wolfsburg

Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen has linked up with Belgian club Sporting Charleroi on a permanent transfer from German outfit, Wolfsburg, Completesports.com reports.

Osimhen spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Sporting Charleroi and recorded 20 goals as well as four assists in 36 games in all competitions.

According to a report in French online news outlet, lequipe.fr, Charleroi have activated the €3.5m buyout option in the agreement to make the forward their first signing of the summer.

However, Charleroi are expected to sell the striker this summer with Italian giants AC Milan, Southampton and Lille already linked with the Nigeria international.

Charleroi will demand between €12m and €15m from any of the suitors which will represent a significant profit for them.

Osimhen joined Wolfsburg in 2017 following his exploits with Nigeria’s U17 side at the cadet World Cup in Chile in 2015 where he won the Golden Boot and Silver Ball awards.

His time with Wolfsburg was blighted by injuries and he made just 14 league appearances for the club.

love ur decision, ur Agent, ur family. future Best Africa Football of the year.

  • Years ago people scoffed at him that how can he not win a shirt in Wolfsburg.
It’s not just injuries, there are other things within a club that can disenfranchise an African player, not that the player isn’t playing well. Even if it ever happens that the player isn’t playing well, do you think his talent just evaporated into thin air?
Ask Omeruo, at a time, after that impressive late Keshi’s 2013 nations cup triumph, many scoffed that he’s finished, yet he was battling with things like finding a foster parent to make him eligible to play in Europe and so on.Is he not back in the team today?
We are part of the problem when we hastily put down our own. They are already condemning Nwakali now, saying, “ordinary PortoB team you can’t play”. Never be too quick to conclude.
Go on Osimhen, I like the clubs that are circling– I wish you the best.

  • Good decision Osimhen. Rather stay where you are loved and appreciated. As you progress further in your career, Wolfsburg will realize you are even a lot bigger than them. You are definitely destined for greatness. I’m really excited for Super Eagles…. Osimhen, Chukwueze, Iwobi…and many other teeming youngsters. We are definitely on course for better days.
