Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ademola Lookman and Emmanuel Dennis were also among the goals for the Super Eagles.

“Congratulations to the whole team and kudos to the coach,” Osimhen told reporters after the game.

“I am happy to get the four goals, I’m happy too for my teammates who scored, the likes of Lookman, Moffi and Dennis.

  • My goal king carry on with the goals because 37+ is the target…… From the first day I saw you I knew you would break that yekini’s 37 international goal record. 15 goals in 22 caps and age is still on your side……Yekini scored 37 in 62 and I know you can best that stat in 50 caps……I also know you will get to 100 caps from all indications as long as you remain at the top5 league for the next 10 years of your career…….I wish you all the best Vic.

Hmm. @Pompei, please don’t be carried away about this wotowoto 10-0 00000.

The new gaffer still have to play against the big teams in Africa before I can say yes we have a coach.

For this result, yes it is called for a celebration but in terms of selecting the right players in today’s match, the coach did not do too well.

If I were in that Oga Paseiro position, I would have introduced Adeleye in the second half and also cap tie Dessers in the second half instead of playing Musa and Shehu.

Is he build a new team or he just wants to win matches?

If he wants to build a solid team then he got it all wrong by playing Musa,Shehu and he ignored Dessers and Adeleye.

Lastly,I have said it here severally that Super Eagles needed a freekick specialists. Etobo himself was shocked. Bravo.

These are the qualities Super Eagles needed to be a strong team.

I am happy that we won the match but am not impressed with the way the gaffer overlooked the young players in today’s match. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

      • Omo9ja you don start again with this new coach take ur time

      • I knew Etebo has it in him to score FKs. He’s not putting himself in good light by his inconsistencies.

Back within the U-23 Eagles, he hit the bar from a FK at the All Africa games…that was when I knew he’s got the ability. So when he stepped up to for the FK against Argentina at Russia 2018, I half expected him to score. Needless to say, I was more disappointed than surprised he only managed to hit the side netting.

I’m not taking anything away from Etebo’s feat but in all honesty, he may not have converted it were we playing against a better team with a better goalie.

All the same, we still don’t have a go-to guy for set pieces as Okocha was. Etebo can put himself in good stead for that with better conversion ratio. Iheanacho and Moses Simon have also shown possibilities but lack consistency.

Omo9ja, I agree that Sao Tome is an inferior side.
But I have to give credit where it is due. Peseiro and company have done well.
If we had played Sao Tome at MKO Abiola stadium, we likely would have struggled.
They might even have snatched a draw or beaten us at home sef, like CAR did.
Our nonsense pitches take the advantage away from our team and gives it to the opponent.
The smooth Agadir pitch was one of the things that favoured us. That, and Peseiro’s tactical flexibility.
Peseiro reads matches, and reacts. He makes timely subs. He doesn’t wait until 10 mins or 5 mins to the end. And his changes MAKE SENSE.
The only issue I have is the failure to cap tie Dessers. However, I believe we need to allow Peseiro to do his job as the coach. If he kept Dessers on the bench, he must have his reasons. No need for us to try to second guess him or do his job for him.
This Sao Tome team gave Ghana and South Africa a tough time recently.
On November 18, 2019, Ghana could only scrape by 1 nil against this same Sao Tome.
On March 28, 2021, Ghana struggled to beat them 3-1 at home.
South Africa fared a bit better, beating them 2 nil on November 13 , 2020 at home and 4-2 on November 16, 2020 away.
Read Deo’s post on another thread about this for more information. So while I admit they are inferior to Nigeria, the 10 nil score does not reflect their actual level. They were simply blown away by a determined, hungry Nigeria.
The team did well. I have no problem praising them.

The guy needs to calm down and be more appreciative of his team mates. His first reaction to the goal scored by lookman is just unprofessional.
He was feeling gutted by his missed opportunity and was busy pointing at Moffi.

What are you saying now, thats called passion now, if he was not appreciative of his teammates, shy then did he hand over that penalty to dennis, nawa for una o, we don leave the football dey criticise matter way dey irrelevant, this is not bbnaija na

This Sao Tome, Ghana laboured to beat them a lone goal away when they met last afcon qualifier, even their match in Ghana end Ghana 3 Sao Tome 1.
Let us thank God and appreciate when our team do well.

It’s funny to see no-one calling Nigerian players average or overated today just because they won by a large margin. Anytime they struggle against a supposed weaker opposition, comment will keep flying here and here with nanm calling. Nigerian fans should be the most emotional in the world. Hosanna today, crucify him tomorrow as if everyday has be Christmas. What do you call the Ivorian players now? Average ? Just because Lesotho drew against them away. Hmmmmmmm….so funny at times, how we react to the outcomes of games involving the Super Eagles. Its good though that everyone is happy.
