Osimhen Suffers Ankle Injury In Napoli Training

Osimhen Suffers Ankle Injury In Napoli Training

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen was forced to withdraw from training on Tuesday (today ) after suffering an injury to his right ankle.

The Serie A champions made the announcement on their official website.

“Osimhen left training prematurely due to a sprain to his right ankle,” reads the statement on the club’s official website.

Italian reporter, Gianluca Di Marzio further revealed that Osimhen left Napoli’s training session during their practice match after suffering a tough blow to his right ankle, colliding with new signing Natan.

He was visibly pained as he limped off the pitch and instantly applied an ice pack to his ankle. Initial tests suggest that he’s suffered an ankle sprain, something that shouldn’t keep him out of action for too long.

The 2023/24 Serie A season is expected to kick-off on August 19.

The Partenopei will face newly promoted side, Frosinone in their opening fixture.

This boy should better grab the crazy offer being dangled at him in Saudi and go and earn mad money even if its just for 2 or 3 years, before it gets exhausted. For an all action typed striker like him, 24 – 27 years of age is when freak, long-term, career ending injuries tend to occur on regular basis.

Watching him playing at times, I usually have my heart in my mouth with the way he lunges into some challenges with or without the ball.

Since a move to any of Man U, Real Madrid, Chelsea or Bayern did not materialize now fresh from winning the Serie A golden boot and league title, then I dont really see it happening anytime soon, judging by the crazy price tag De Santis has placed on him, and the fact that those teams have already signed their choice alternatives.

He might say he wants to wait in Europe a little longer till he’s past his peak, but what if the toll of his all action style has begun to tell on him and he becomes a shadow of his peak self.

O boy, go to Saudi now and pocket upwards of $150m and come back to Europe later if you like. Then you can even have multiple ACL injuries and not feel you lost out on something good.

Osimhen will love to play in the champions league for many years and win it. Though the Saudi offer is very artractive but many fans want to see Osimhen thrive in Europe as long as possible. Then when he’s like 32, he can go to Saudi. He will last long if he manage himself well. The guy too dey overuse himself

All he need to do is take it easy on the pitch, avoid unnecessary rough play, rough tackles, fighting defenders just to steal the balls should be minimal because no defender will want to be humiliated and for that reason, they will be willing to go all out to stop him even if it take giving him serious injury

Also he need to reserve energy and let the defenders and midfielders do the job they’re paid for. He Should always focus all his strength on putting the ball behind the net. Then support his defence only when it’s necessary and when they’re under pressure.

  • bring in Victor Boniface to take away some of the pressure from victor osimhen in the national team, that guy is massive. i guess some members of the national team training staff know that once he comes in there is no way you can drop him on the bench or leave him out of the team.
i watched his game against west ham(highlights) he made a lot of mistakes with his decision on the ball but over all his performance was commendable. the fans were entertained and he scored a goal, caused a penalty and worried the opposing team throughout the time he was on the pitch. he is going to score lots of goals in germany this season in my own estimation. some teams really missed out on signing him. he should be in the national team now. ahead of players like terrem moffi, taiwo awoniyi and sadiq umar unless they can prove their forms. but these are exciting times for the super eagles, with new strikers coming in , new defenders coming in and hopefully new midfielders coming in as well.

Did you say Taiwo Awoniyi and Sadiq Umar?? I can understand Moffi because he’s in the French league. Awoniyi single-handedly helped Nottingham Forest escape relegation. Sadiq single-handedly brought Almeria to the La Liga from Segunda. What has Boniface single-handedly done for his clubs?? No doubt he’s going to be a good addition, but not at the expense of Awoniyi and Sadiq if they’re both playing and fit. Boniface may be an upgrade to Moses Simon. I hope he gets his chance in the next international window.
