Osimhen’s Winning Goal Vs Bologna Sends Napoli Back To Top Of Serie A Table

Victor Osimhen was the hero for Napoli as he bagged the all important goal, which sealed a 3-2 win against Bologna to send his side back to the top in Serie A on Sunday, Completesports.com reports.

Osimhen has now scored in back-to-back games since making his return from injury.

The Super Eagles striker’s tally in the Italian topflight this season his three goals in six games.

The win against Bologna took Napoli (on 26 points) above second placed Atalanta (on 24 points).

Bologna took the shock lead on 41 minutes as Dominguez allowed Andrea Cambiaso to spring the offside trap down the left and he pulled it back for Joshua Zirkzee to drill through a sea of legs from 15 yards.

It didn’t last long, as Napoli equalised on the stroke of half-time. A corner bounced off the shinpads of Gary Medel and Juan Jesus was quickest to react, scuffing in from six yards.

Osimhen and Chucky Lozano came on for the restart which proved decisive as Napoli went 2-1 ahead in the 49th minute.

Kvaratskhelia cut inside from the left and Lukasz Skorupski only parried his angled drive, Osimhen couldn’t get on the rebound, but Lozano converted.

However, in the 51st minute Bologna were back on level terms thanks to Musa Barrow whose hopeful snap shot from distance bounced in front of Alex Meret, who misjudged and it let squirm through his hands into the far bottom corner.

It was suddenly wide open and Skorupski made a big save on Osimhen’s towering header, then Kvaratskhelia’s shot took a double deflection to dribble inches wide and from that corner Osimhen and Juan Jesus couldn’t find the tap-in.

And in the 69th minute Osimhen scored what was the winner for Napoli. Di Lorenzo stung Skorupski’s gloves at the near post and Napoli restored their lead when Kvaratskhelia perfectly weighted the through ball so it went past Kevin Bonifazi and Osimhen dinked it past the on-rushing goalkeeper.

    My BOY is BACK!!!

Thought some UNKNOWN PUNDITS here said you will be finding it DIFFICULT to SCORE until you APOLOGIZE to your SISTER for doing nothing…

    LMFAO!

Omo abeg make una leave MATTER for MATAYAS…

    PERSON wey SABI, SABI abeg..

Who GOD BLESSED, no MAN CURSE…

    • Your Boy?? Lol the only *your boys* we know are Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa. You are the main catalyst that supports old legs in Super Eagles and Supports young talents being frozen out the team for old and tired legs. Your boy? Loool common don’t make us laugh we all know you are no Osimhen fan rather you are Odion and Musa biggest fan boy.

  • Osimhen is a modern day centre forward…..he can do anything he wants and he is virtually unplayable…..His team mates just needs to trust his runs more….. Osimhen feeds and thrives on through balls just like halaand……They both have pace and power plus finishing but Halaand’s team mates trust him more…..The Man City Midfielders never waste any of Halaand’s runs and they play the ball through at any slightest opportunity even if they stand a chance of converting themselves……The same can not be said of Osimhen at Napoli hence his low return of goals…… Napoli needs to utilize osimhen’s talent the more if they have the hope of winning the scuddeto this season.

That’s true man city midfielders are always looking for him………Liverpool did do well to cage hom today though and it became futile for Man city..

Rivers United just got eliminated 6-o LMaoooo even after the Gov promised $40,000 each na wa for our local football and some dumb NFF official will say a certain percentage should always make the national team.

Why didn’t the writer mention Joshua Zirkzee’s goal? He’s Nigerian too, and I think Peseiro should take a look at that boy.

I want Osimhen to score in ten straight matches and remain injury free. Let him keep the mouth of those haters shut who are beginning to rate one Raspi wetin sef higher bcos our brother had got a few days off due to injury. I want to see him score every week. God make this possible abeg

HE must have READ all those rating and I believe that is what is INSPIRING him RIGHT now

      • @MONKEY POST And you call a source of inspiration he took On board to better his performance Ranting?. Can’t your dumb jungle brain see that it was for his benefit that wr pointed out he needs to raise his game because Raspadori and Simeone are pushing him real hard for a starting sport why must every good thing be bad in your eyes and every bad thing Good?. Are you a demon?????.. Let me remind you that nobody has backed Osimhen more than me on this forum and I will not sit back or rather hesitate to point him back to refocus when he is losing sight of the main objective. Hence I will always be his biggest fan and biggest critic that is how much love I have for him.

Anyway yes back to the point at Papafem Victor needs to keep his scoring boots on inorder to keep the talented Raspadori and Simeone at bay after all it is only competition that brings out the best in footballers.

        Osibobo VO9 keep flying high..

  • OSIBOBO could have scored 3 goals today if not for Piter Zielinski and Lozano stingyness towards him it was clear as day these Napoli fowards do not want Osimhen to shine. He needs to over hustle for everything he gets in that team and it is not supposed to be like that he should leave to England when Man U wangle the big bucks at Napoli this January. Napoli is rascit.period. I was so frustrated especially at Lozano.. but still Osimhen showed with out a doubt that he is the most talented player in that team.

  • @ugo iwunze you almost cracked my ribs there…..”My boy” indeed…… the guy is suffering from identity crisis….. Pretending to be a fan of a team you hate so much is the hardest and most stupid thing to do…..lolz
