Pinnick Meets Ighalo; Hails Eagles AFCON Showing, Says Qualifying For Qatar 2022 Non- Negotiable

Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has praised the Super Eagles despite the team’s early exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, reports Completesports.com.

The Super Eagles started the competition on an impressive note winning all three group games, but were eliminated in the second round by Tunisia.

Pinnick in a series of tweets on Thursday, via his official Twitter handle @PinnickAmaju lauded the players, technical crew and the backroom staff for the work, noting that the team was only unlucky in the Round of 16.

“…playing good football as well, we were unlucky in our Round of 16 match. Nevertheless, it was a brilliant showing by our team & showed the level of work the coaching crew put in. That has also been recognized by the latest @FIFAcom rankings placing Nigeria as the3rd best…”

Pinnick insists that qualifying for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is non-negotiable just as he disclosed that he met with Odion Ighalo who is making wave in Saudi Arabia scoring goals for the big clubs.

“Qatar 2022, in my opinion, is non-negotiable. Qualifying for the World Cup is our plan. Qualifying for next year’s AFCON is also built into our future plans.

“…this happens. I just met with @ighalojude, the highest goalscorer at the 2019 edition of the AFCON, now playing and still scoring goals for Saudi Arabia’s biggest football club. Odion has assured that playing for his country will always come first and he is ready to ensure…”

It is a good move, please visit victor Moses as well or call them because Ghana play hard like cemeroon and anytime they meet Nigeria they care not to receive Red card.

  • God bless you Pinnic.

Football loving Nigerian love you for the good works.

    Keep it up.

@Ighalo, more strength and blessing in Jesus name.

    God bless Nigeria.

Pinnick rest please. You are the biggest problem
we have in our football . You owe coaches , owe the players and you get paid together with your criminal gangs in the glass house and expect the players to give you 100% commitment and loyalty grrhhh. Pay them
Their outstanding cos this present generation of footballers have been very dedicated . You dare not try this with the 94 eagles on match day they will hold you to ransom. Make sure you pay them all that you owe in backlogs and motivate these boys and the coaching staff to be able to get us the desired results otherwise mr babalawo bearded looking pinnick , it would be time for you to resign honorably. One more team stay away from the camp, leave the coaches alone to do their jobs.

    • Presh 2 years ago

Thank You, his friends are congratulating him he is doing a good job to visit Ighalo. Let the coach do their job and pay these players. Also pay Rohr all his money. All.

With Odion, Ghana Black Stars are already doing the catch up from behind. Now Nigeria is no3 in Africa.

One thing Nigerians appreciate Muhammed Sanusi, NFF Secretary General for. Amaju Pinnick led NFF is doing just fine. Keep it up while undermining the noise from the agitated region. God bless Nigerians.

I’m happy Nigeria is blessed with good administrators which has reflected in the latest FIFA rating. Good luck NFF and God bless Nigeria.

  • It’s like a father meeting his son with one goal in mind. Leggo Odion!

I have told you Nigerians and I will remind you what I said before, Nigerians can not enjoy watching good football under Amaju and if we don’t replace him now then he will take Nigerian football backward.

It is a big disappointment seeing Amaju Pinnick taking over every department in our sports. If at all he have to scout for players, why does he have to bring Ighalo back when we have Nwkueme, Dessers and Dennis?

You are asking the coaching crew to build a young team for Nigeria but you are running to a retired striker?

Is it his job to scout for players in the first place? No wonder our leaders are taking Nigeria backward because they don’t know their roles.

If at all you have to do this and you want the best players to represent Nigeria presently, Ighalo and Akpeyi are not among the players to be considered.

Some of us still begging Victor Moses to have a rethink and come back to play for Nigeria but I like Moses, he won’t come back because he has done his best for Nigeria and he decided not to play for our national team anymore. We have to respect his final decision.

More so, we have so many abundant talented players in his position. Same thing with Ighalo.

I think having Ighalo back in the Super Eagles is beyond football. That is the bitter truth.

He, Amaju Pinnick saw what Dessers was able to accomplished last year at Feyenoord and up to this present, he still doing wonderfully well and he just scored four goals in a single match few days ago but our president did not go and meet Dessers.

Dessers deserved to be in Cameroon to represent Nigeria but because of corruption, NFF and coach Eguavoen decided to call Ighalo and thankfully, he wasted a slot for no reason.

Now, as world cup qualifiers approaches, he, Amaju still wanted to bring in Ighalo? When we have Dessers? Are you kidding me NFF?

What was his experience given us against Argentina and in Lagos against Cape Verde.

No disrespect to Ighalo, he has done really well in the past. But coming back to Super Eagles is a taboo if he knows.

If this is what you will be doing Pinnick, I will advise coach Amunike to step down. You can not force players on our own. Let the coaching crew do their job.

Against Ghana, we need the players like Nwakali, Nwobodo and Ejaria in the midfield to supply the likes of Osimhen, Dessers in the front.

I am not a coach nor agent but the little experience I have about football, at least I can tell if I see fantastic strikers.

I love Ighalo. I repeat, personally, I love Ighalo but presently, we have strikers that are more qualified in his position.

Amaju doesn’t own our national team, Super Eagles. We put Amaju there to represent us and if he is not doing what we asked him to do then, he have to go. He should remember that we hire and we fire.

Also, Agu is still with the Super Eagles because of this Amaju and we are expecting good performance from our goalies when there’s no competition in that goalkeeping department. I won’t be deceived.

Enough is enough, Amaju must go. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Nigerian football federation is confused under the leadership of Amaju Pinnock.i urge Amaju to please pay the players on-time so that they can deliver for there mother land..

    • Jide.Dola 2 years ago

You have removed Sadiq from your list, iberibe of the highest order. For every one shouting pinnick should focus on his work, they want to speak against Ighalo but they don’t know how to go about it bcos is becoming clear that we only have two reliable strikers in Ighalo and Osimhen. I will I love NFF to top our attack with Dennis and desser so that by the time we didn’t qualify for world cup we will rest. Desser is a good player no doubt but he’s not in anyway better than Ighalo. He’s just a player for the future. We should have woken up from our slumber by now, knowing that no player is worth the hype by having in mind that they are all average players. Ighalo I will commend you for moving out of alshabab so that you could represent your country again

    • Emmanuel 2 years ago

No matter what you do, there are always going to be naysayers. Nice job NFF, nice job Amaju pinnick. We need Ighalo’s experience against Ghana as well as Osimhens youthfulness. Perfect combo for me.

  • Mama Sarah 2 years ago

Such an important visit. Gbosa for these Nigerians.

  • We need all the players that can deliver at this junction.

If victor moses too can be convinced please do so.

We can’t rely on those young average players for this crucial games.

After we might have qualified then we can start testing them all over again but for now, those awoniyi, saudiq and olayinka should please sit down for one corner and watch with keen eye.

This is not a game where strikers we crave for open space before he can operate, this is not a game where a striker will need to mesmerize goal keeper before putting the ball into the net.

This is a game where half chance needs to be converted. This is a game where ruggedness is needed which I believe OSI and JUDE have demostrated in time past.

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

Yes o we need tested and proven strikers against Ghana. Not all those newbies shit we paraded at the Afcon..

    • Edoman 2 years ago

Newbies indeed. Still learning to trap a simple ball. Playing in the second division in Spain. School boys’ players. They still mention that average player like Desser where Onuachu is obviously omitted. Pinnick is doing a good job.

  • Nice photo up there, CSN. I just noticed Nigeria is now 3rd in Africa courtesy NFF hard work, that’s good news. Up up Nigeria.

Even CAF recognised coach Eguavoen in cameroon during Afcon21 and only recently FIFA spoke growly in recognition of Odion in the match against Chelsea and SE climbing from 36th to 32nd in FIFA ranking. All these are good tidings. God bless NFF members for a job well done but they must not relax o.

    @Sam,
My bro, it can only by Up Up Nigeria since it is quite obvious. Good luck Mr. Amaju Pinnick and hopefully Odion will be available for the match against Ghana.

  • Eguavoen: Which Killer Formation _Should He Adopt For Nigeria?_

Pinnick meeting Ighalo to discuss the magnitude of the qualifier against Ghana is step in the right direction.

It is now undeniable that the Super Eagles of Nigeria are journeying towards new horizon under the new coaching crew headed by Austin Eguavoen and Emmanuel Amuneke.

Already, the green shoots of greatness appear to be sprouting for Nigeria with 3 emphatic wins in the group stages of the just concluded Afcon that directly catapulted the team to 3rd place in Africa in the Fifa rankings.

It is not a stretch to suggest that Ighalo’s killer instinct was sorely missing in the ill fated second round encounter against Tunisia.

As formational frailties contributed to Nigeria’s unfortunate early shock Afcon ouster, the question on the lips of many fans is: what killer formation and formula should Eguavoen adopt for the Super Eagles against Ghana and for opponents afterwards?

Personally I think 3-5-2 formation is the way to go for Nigeria. It offers a healthy balance of offensive and defensive approach for our Nigeria’s wingbacks whilst still having enough cover at the back with 3 competent centre backs.

Then you have 2 defensive midfielders offering cover for the centre backs, 1 mobile attacking midfielder and 2 strikers (a centre forward and a support striker). This constellation will offer a potent attacking threat.

That is just my suggestion. Whatever formation Eguavoen adopts, I will keep sounding this out that Nigeria needs a minimum of 3 midfielders: 1 DM with a deep playing CM (similar to Rohr’s Etebo-Ndidi Combo or Keshi’s Onazi-Mikel Combo).

Perhaps the most important factor that led to Nigeria’s loss against Tunisia was just having 1 DM in Ndidi with Aribo too further up the pitch to track back on time to always make up the grounds in offering ancillary defensive cover.

Then they will need a marauding attacking midfielder, a role played admirably by Iwobi between 2019 and 2021 for Nigeria. In recent times, Iwobi’s effectiveness in that role has badly weakened. Against Egypt, Aribo delivered a coup-de-maitre performance in dispensing that duty.

None of us Critics know what tweaks Eguavoen will make to his formation going forward but my advice to him is not to leave the midfield wafer thin.

Since he favours Nigeria’s historical arrangements, 1 can posit a 4-4-2 formation that looks like this:

    GK: Stanley Nwabili

DFs: Aina – Ekong – Balogun – Collins

MFs: Ndidi – Onyeka (almost side by side but Onyeka can foray slightly forward but never too far away to support Ndidi when needed. Ndidi never goes forward and should be careful with his tackles)

WFs: Lookman – Simon (wingers who drop back to perform defensive duties)

SS: Iheanacho (will perform a dual role of attacking midfielder and support striker. He will have to be very mobile to cover grounds and he will definitely be substuted for Awoniyi or Olayinka early in the second half due to tiredness).

CF: Osimhen (who will be the arrow down the middle and across the channels). Ighalo can come in the second half pushing Osimhen to the support striker role.

I think this set up will compensate for what Eguavoen is trying to achieve.

  • Lets us See I just hope this man pinnick will do the needful and exclude Musa from that list. we need Vic Moses and Dennis in the set up now that Ademola is tied down. Ighalo again, hmmm!! pinnick you no dey Hear word. Okay o

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

@deo Which one is Stanley nwabili as GK again? You guys just like NFF like taking us back.we cant be doing trial and error at this stage. Be patient with Okoye. get a psychologist to work on his mind and then maybe a good gk trainer or let the one there step up his game. Simple!

    • My brother Mo-Post, thanks for your message. Happily, Okoye is here to stay for a very long time. He is one for the future. But for now, I will advocate for a competent indigenous goalkeeper to hold the fort until such a time that Okoye becomes mature enough to man the post for the Super Eagles in crunch encounters.

I think we place too much pressure on Okoye’s shoulders which doesn’t seem fair to me.

He can continue developing in club football whilst at the same time playing for the Super Eagles in friendlies and dead rubber games. Once we see that currently-missing maturity in his game, then he can be reinstated as the Numero Uno.

Stanley Nwabili is not a world class goalkeeper. Despite being home based, there is a maturity to his game which helps him position himself well enough to deflect shots. His technique is plausible and he can handle the big occasion with assurance.

But hey, if Eguavoen elects to persist with Okoye, that is what he is paid to do: making tough decisions.

I just pray it doesn’t end up blowing up in his face and ours the way it did against Sierra Leone, Cape Verde and more recently Tunisia.

    • Edoman 2 years ago

Be patience with Okoye after Ghana don score 3 goals against the basket. What is wrong with Uzoho or Adeleye?

  • Mercy 2 years ago

I actual don’t understand why alot of people keep blaming okoye for the goal we conceded against Tunisia. I have watched the highlights of the match couple of times and what I realized is that many Nigerians were only looking for scapegoat for our defeat otherwise the boy is not at fault at all. Firstly, the ball was going to his right and then swerved to his left, when all his weight have already moved to the right. Unfortunately again, the ball bounced in front of him, making it difficult for any goal keeper to catch. Unfortunately, he was only able to parried it into his net.

Why did we blind our eyes to the player( ola aina) who was supposed to clear the ball but missed judge and kept blaming the innocent boy?

    • @mercy had spoken, oya make una have mercy on okoye all the forumite.

The guy will come through for us one day and very soon.

I hope @omonja will not read my comment.

    • Ola Aina and Wilfred Ndidi were bigger culprits to the goal scored by Tunisia. They both have the goal scorer ample time and space to shoot the ball.I just wonder why people are pouring the entire blame on Okoye.

      • Edoman 2 years ago

That was not the first goal Okoye conceded so cheaply for Nigeria. Such ball would not have been unprofessionally handled in such a high-profile match. Uzoho could not have been beaten so cheaply. Go look at all the goals he has been conceding at the Club level. He is just a basket, That’s all.

Se goal puncher, hmm. That means we would have won afcon gold if Odion was there. Pinnick should also visit Amoo and Victor Moses and Orode.

  • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Ighalo again Nigerians I think our problem is a general one minus my kinds. What on earth do you need Ighalo for? Because he scored in a 6-1 rout? but we forget he fired blank against Chelsea despite all the gragra and we also forgot the Lago against CapeVerde with zero contribution. We should be scouting and developing players like Dennis and Dessers to compliment Osimhen and not the old tested Ighalo with average winning mentality from u20. I sorry for this nation called Nigeria we can’t have enough of this shit no we can’t and Pinnick can as well become the coach of the team henceforth. Ighalo might not survive the barrage of criticism if he comes and messes up again.

    • CagedAnimal 2 years ago

Doing catch-up from behind can be painful, sorry. Nigerians really like as Amaju visited Odion, it is an ego boost, SE core players need it. God bless Nigeria.

@Chima, there is no ehyaa at all and infact, don’t mind them. At least you spoke your mind. They can qualify it as noise, na dem sabi. But truly, the NFF president is on course and really great to ensure that Ighalo is available for our next match.

  • Mustafa 2 years ago

It won’t be a surprise if Ighalo wins the golden boot in Qatar.

  • Ralph 2 years ago

Yea you are right and that’s the primary reason why anything short of qualification then you must resign honourably and make it easier for everybody and please stop referring to the disastrous AFCON outing as a good performance, because with the team we had AFCON 2022 was a disaster and you of all people should not be proud of that and you should be trying to save face with the WC qualifier and if fail then you have to go

    • He said they lost because they were unlucky. Luck in football? That means Senegal won because they were lucky. Yeye man they sha look for everything to cover their failure and our “own”. Very soon their yansh will be completely open.

      • Mahmud Shuaib 2 years ago

You write a lot of shit with your point grammar young man.

Yes, LUCK plays a part NOT just in football but in every facet of life.

I dont need to give you evidences. I have been around long enough to know one or two things about luck.

You cannot discredit EGUAVOEN because you do not know jerk compared to the people who have been involved with the game long before you were born.

SE crashed out in the second round much due to MOTHERLUCK!

AINA was 3rd best in completed dribbles the entire tournament

AWONIYI was second most with shots at goal

NDIDI completed MORE passes at the opposition half with 85% accuracy

NWAKALI despite his limited appearances was 3rd best accurate passer of the ball the entire competition

MOSES SIMON completed MORE DRIBBLES than any other player the entire competition

These are STATISTICAL DATA compiled by reputable organizations such as GOAL.COM, WHOSCORED.COM etc

Even the OLAYINKA you guys always write thrash about, this is what GOAL.COM wrote about him:

PETER OLAYINKA; Given two cameos, including against Tunisia with Nigeria chasing the game, and CREATED TWO GOALSCORING CHANCES (emphasis mine) which were spurned by his teammates. Could have been the match-winning hero on another day.

Please can a bad player create 2 GOALSCORING CHANCES for a team playing 10 against 11 and chasing the game????

In case your memory is DULLED by the paranoia induced hangover from ROHR’s sack, the chances were missed by UMAR SADIQ and MOSES SIMON respectively!

  • Respect is Reciprocal 2 years ago

Anybody going against the invitation of Ighalo doesn’t understand team spirit in football. As much as I don’t want Ighalo at the Nation cup final because we needed to test other players but now for the match against Ghana home and away I think his experience will be needed .
People clamoring for Denis Desser and co what magic would these two players bring different from what we saw in Awoniyi, Umar and Nwakali I tell you girls Denis in the match against Ghana he won’t play meaningful football not because he is not good but the timing is not on his side . Are these players Messi or CR7 even Messi found it difficult to play impact football when he got to PSG.
If you really want Nigeria to qualify let’s the coach go with the players he knows and understand.

  • Usman 2 years ago

Why Nigeria failed in afcon and will continue to fail going forward

Diverse team and or team that reflects the demographics of the country: Senegal for example, the Wolof tribe makes up majority of Senegal and that reflects the team. Ismailia Sarr, Bouna Sarr, Idrissa Gana Gueye, Pape Gueye and more. And you have other minorities playing on the team. Mandinka tribe: Sadio Mane, Kheikhou Kouyate, Pape Abou Cisse and Aliou Cisse the coach. Fulani: Abdou Diallo, Habib Diallo and Boulaye Dia. The Nigerian team is mostly comprised of Igbo people at least 50% and they aren’t even in the top 5 most populated tribe in Nigeria when there are at least 250 tribes in Nigeria. People here are always complaining about the midfield and play dumb and know who the culprit is. The midfield is to busy dribbling the ball with no end product. I know Pinnick has his hand in recruiting, the coach that comes through has to do what he wants. So its a never ending cycle, I don’t know how long he has been there and has not brought anything good. The recruitment is hypercritical I see subpar Igbor players get recruited easily while non Igbo players have to be like Messi or Ronaldo to even get a mention

Huge egos: Nigerians are as big headed as this music industry. I remember clear as day when in the world cup they had to face Croatia, they were dancing with their phone in hands with headphones in their ears before the match started. Have some sense like Senegal they start celebrating and dancing after they win games. The players are not serious. All these crap interviews talking about I get inspiration from listening to wizkid, fela and etc, like that’s supposed to mean something. The most populated country in Africa and still cant get right, thats a shame

Prioritising mixed/biracial players. All these other teams have native or local goal keepers playing and doing a good job. From Mendy for Senegal, Andre Onana for Cameroon, Bounou for Morocco and the Egyptian goalkeeper. Watching them play, they did extremely well, especially the Egyptian goalkeeper against Morocco and beyond.. He was visibly upset when he had to get off for extra time when he put in that work. Gabal is a second choice goalkeeper and he got man of the match in which Egypt lost to Senegal. Okoye just breezes into the starting lineup out of nowhere. People like him because he is tatted and lightskin. People here saying oh he still Nigerian like all biracle players, they want them to play for Nigeria so bad, Nigerians and their low self esteem. Just like the people bleaching their skin in the Nollywood movies. Okoye is not good. I think Nigeria has the most biracial/mixed players in West Africa, they hate themselves so much. Francis Uzoho had a good thing going and the perfect size overall. Now Okoye soon have the most caps out of current goalkeepers

Inconsistent lineup: I remember seeing 6 different goalkeepers called up. I keep saying this, Jamilu Collins is a bad defender, he has been on a relegated German club for more then 3 years and they never been promoted, how is he gonna help

Poor experiences: This Nigerian team got a bunch of relegated players and or players who are not playing in the top 5 leagues. Majority of Cameroon and Senegal players are playing and or starting for Ligue 1 teams. Since Senegal and Cameroon were colonised by france they have an easy access to get top league experience and bring that back to the national team. Andre Onana plays for Ajax that almost went to the champions league final. Mendy won the champions league with Chelsea. What is Okoye going to do? Even African french colonised countries have 2nd or 3rd choice goalkeepers playing in the french league. England prioritises their own people and academy players. Players of countries colonized by England most likely have to start in lower tier in the english league, because english league promote their own, use their academy and its tough to get in. If not that they have to start playing outside the top 5 league. The last time a Nigerian was recruited to play for english league was Taiwo Awoniyi and he left to go play for Union Berlin that could get 4th spot into champions league. Osimhen is playing in the europa league. The national team only got few top tier experience. Shoot, even Ekong cant adapt to the premier league he keeps getting beat and its obvious, watford already has terrible defense. Dennis has adapted to the premier league having 8 goals on a poor team. That is top tier experience, but he joint top in most yellow cards.

Social media recruiting: People here begging players born abroad or who is mixed/biracial players to play for Nigeria. Happened to Dessers and now they are all over Lookman page. When I look at the Senegalese and Cameroonian teams I see almost half the players born abroad, and they came to represent the national team without people begging them. The reason is because they have enough talent on the team even with local based players. The Senegal team for example, Boulaye Dia, Abdou Diallo, Kalidou Koulibaly, Nampalys Mendy, Bouna Sarr and Edouard Mendy.

Lookman isnt gonna change one thing, its this terrible team as a whole, especially with that bad midfield. I wonder who this midfield players are, hmmm

    • Usman. How many Egyptian are playing in top 5 leagues. How many super eagles were playing in top 5 leagues when we won 2013. The Egyptian won 3 times in a row how many were playing in top 5 leagues. What about the Algerians that won in 2019.

Common stop all these Rohr mediocre talks

    • Dennis 2 years ago

It is the responsibility of the coach to manage the players so long as they are not forced to wear the green white green. Some are always at Management cadre mostly the Bendelites who will allow others to enjoy their playing time. The meeting of these two great sons of Nigeria now that we are preparing for an important match, is good thing in the right direction. I try not to say Bendel control at the top. God bless SE players and their happy tribe in Nigeria.

You are spot on @Dennis. Late Shuaibu Amodu who twice qualified the Super Eagles for the World cup. Like it is by right. The Nigerian Football Federation has been very supportive of our national teams. Amaju Pinnick must continue in this strides. Good luck Odion Igahalo*.

  • Chibuike 2 years ago

Pinick alcultic man who killed keshi and Amudu shuabu but you can’t kill Oliseh, him blood is strong

  • Many Nigerians are hypocrite, when Rohr recall Ighalo, heaven nearly broke open, with many calling for Rohr’s head, it was same Ighalo the Amaju visited that people are now hailing. The naked truth is that they want Rohr out so that they can start their feast, they have gotten their wish now, we have seen the results of part 1 (AFCON) let’s wait for the results of part 2 (WCQ)

    • @Ola we told them then that there is something that man saw before decided to recall Ighalo but you know what some Nigerian fans are a very terrible people they never trust the poor man judgement. They kept shouting Awoniyi, Sadiq etc. Now they have used Nations cup to experiment with Awoniyi and co but instead of them to learn they are still giving flimsy excuses. All these point to the facts that that man Rohr meant well for Nigeria but they were all accusing him of corruption, maybe their Pinnick has collected bribe by travelling all the way from Nigeria to Saudi to talk to Ighalo. I just pray God will forgive some people. Their wailing never over though has kasala is still coming ahead trust me..

      • My brother, they will never learn, Rohr is doing everything to move Nigeria football forward but those forces of backwardness and corruption will not allow the man to work in peace, now they have butted him out. We now see players like Idah, Nwakali (his club is at the verge of terminating his contract for lack of productivity) Olayinka etc… What do we achieved? Yet the new coach is still planning of inviting local players… No wahala make dem continue, everything in. Life has expiration period

The same people are still calling for Desser, Saqic. that schoolboy Uwakali, Olayika and Awoniyi to face Ghana. Awoniyi only goal was by mistake when the ball accidentally hit his head while he was looking for it. He is now warming the bench in his Garmen Club. Yeye people who ruined Oga Rohr’s reputation. Kposa Kposa. It will not end well with them.

  • @Ola that is the only truth, am waiting to see the tactics for next game ROHR is still the best

FIFA ranking is based on Analytics and nothing more. In 1994, when Nigeria was ranked as the 5th best playing men’s football team in the world, it was because, when had won silver in Algiers in 1990, won bronze in Senegal in 1992 and gold in Tunisia in 1994. We won bronze in Egypt in 2019 and got booted out in the round of 16 at the just concluded AFCON and that to some people is progress!!!. I hope coach Egu and his plethora of assistance will invite the quality players needed for the job in March and also, have, the necessary technical and tactical plan of action to prosecute the match.

Pinnick visiting retired Igahalo in Saudi!! OMG So Pinnick is now SE coach that decides which player to recall ( what a terrible nation full of corrupt officials plus tribal sentiment)

@Omo9ja , even though I supported Eguafon to be retained as SE Coach because of his great performance that surpassed expectations ( I think many of us that declared Eguafon’s Afcon outing was the best ever seen in the past 6 years ) ; Nevertheless, I have warned you severally not to ever overhyped Eguafon with unmerited adjectives as Mr No Nonsense; now you can see it yourself ( why lamenting ?)

Oga Rohr a.k.a Belmadi’s trainee deficiencies was the only reason Eguafon’s brilliancy shown like light in the dark . Except technical acumen that he has over Rohr ,all the other deficiencies in Rohr are also deposited in Eguafon ( particularly Mr Yes-Man and bribe taker when not paid )

I have said it severally , Eguafon is an upgraded local version of Oga Rohr . I just hope , this will not be needless distractions that will cost us WC qualifications against Ghana.

One would have expected, with wasted of one slot for Igahalo in Afcon that was obviously not needed for football reason , and particularly with Eguafon presence in the last game of Igahalo that was totally flopped to the embarrassment of Rohr who also came with another shameful comic alibi , attributing Igahalo messed of zero assist, zero contributions , missing only 2 or 3 begging chances that came his way (to his 2 years retirement) .

Anyway, good luck to Coach Pinnick and sombie Eguafon

What will cost us Ghana is Okoye the Basket. If the two Edo pikins were in AFCON, Nigeria would have reached the finals. Namely Ighalo & Osimhen. Of cause, without the basket. HO MMMM, Nigerian PEOPLE HATES THE BASKET.

I can see you are delusional as always…….did I read you say “I think many of us that declared Eguafon’s Afcon outing was the best ever seen in the past 6 years”? So in your warped opinion a round of 16 exit is best compared to a podium finish? You are sick in the head @DeStar.

I maintained that SE will qualify for Qatar simply because all these players also wants to participate in the WC but never because Eguavoen / Amuneke has any technical or tactical savvy. He will just be his usual motivational speaker and instruct the guy to play their game to be in Qatar

@Omo9ja and other great minds that are taken aback by the outrageous decision of senseless minds game and arrangee visit , where Victor Mosses that was badly needed was never given ordinary phone call , let alone visit, but Igahalo that was complete mess in his last game with SE and rightly fired blank against Chelsea to prove that sunday sunday football is quite different from serious competitive football.

What you all missing is , no one is talking how Eguafon’s salary payment can be guaranteed. If there is no assurance, I bet the likes of unmerited players like flopped Igahalo would continue to hit headlines , as unprincipled Igahalo must survive

Francis Uzoho is currently Nigeria’s best goal keeper at home and in diaspora. I wonder why he was kept on the bench for Okoye, the basket. Do those goalkeeper trainers think with their asses? Experiment again with Okoye and miss the world cup. A world to the wise is enough.

  • I am tired of Talking this is really frustrating maybe people here are just failed at reasoning if we waste spot on Ighalo and leave Victor Moses out again we will only have ourselves to blaim. Victor Moses is the assist master.

@Ugu Iwunze don’t you think if you still invite VM without a tested and trusted striker like Ighalord to be making judicious use of the assist/passes, that will still proove to be a waste of spot?

I don’t really know how to describe it, but it is hypocrisy. When you complain about Musa’s invitation to SE while he was playing in the same region and support this fraudulent and self-beneficiary move by Picnic.
Despite the huge money thrown at him, Musa decided to return to Europe just to be more competitive and not to fool himself with whatever success he achieved in the Sunday-Sunday league…
The hypocrites see nothing good in Musa, (a player that has scored more goals in the W’cup than any Nigerian dead or alive), bit they are always looking for excuse to impose a player who has disappointed the whole nation in both youth and senior W’Cup.
Musa is younger and has achieved more than this notice me guy..
Besides, Picnic will not visit the much needed Victor Moses because VM is a very discipline and classy guy..
Without Ighalo, the SE scored 6 goals and conceeded two in 4 matches, moved to 3rd in Africa.
Those complaining about Sadiq or Awoniyi, have you tried to find out the number of non-penalty goals scored by Ighalo in his first fifteen matches..
Awoniyi contributed a goal and an assist in his first 3 starts while Sadiq scored a goal in one start..
Cerezo should resist all attempts by this arrogant and self-centered maggot to push him around. Now, its becoming obvious where the questionable invitations were coming from.

  • Al ahly 4 : Al hilal hmm

  • Coaches Eguavoen and Amunike and the NFF should also extend an invitation to Dominic Solanke. He is a world class attacking midfielder and striker who is now willing to play for Nigeria, and was the MVP at the under 20 world cup won by England a few years ago. He is currently creating waves witH Bournemouth in the English Championship wherE they are second and heading for the Premiership next season.

Must all focus be on the super eagles?
This lazy football administrators just choose to focus on super eagles for greed and their selfishness. Because is easier to assemble foreign talents for competitions. And it seems is working by that.

What is happening to U23 team, U21 team, U17 team and the CHAN TEAM?

Look at what other countries both in Africa and other parts of the world is doing:

    09:00Moldova U16 – FC Minsk U17 -:-
    10:00Kyrgyzstan U16 – Georgia U17 -:-
    11:20Tajikistan U16 – Uzbekistan U17 -:-
    12:20Din. Minsk U17 – Belarus U17 -:-
    13:00Portugal U17 – Slovakia U17 -:-
    14:40Belarus U16 – Israel U17 -:-
    17:00Spain U17 – Germany U17 -:-

These are friendlies for age grade teams. Where is our own? Ohhhhhh I guess when is time they will gather over age players for cheating.

I repeat the problem of Nigerian football is NFF. We can’t even organize local friendlies for this team. Is shameful.
