Premier League: Arsenal Survive Tottenham Fightback To Cement Place At Top

Arsenal fought off a second half fight back to record a nervy 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur in their North London derby.

Spur’s Pierre-Emlle Hojberg scored an own goal to hand Arsenal the lead.

Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz scored the other goals for the Gunners in the first half.

The hosts were handed a lifeline on 64 minutes after Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya’s dreadfully executed chipped pass landed to Cristian Romeo, who found the bottom left corner.

The visitors endured a tough fight to the end of the game when Declan Rice fouled Ben Davies that led the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to award a penalty that was comverted by Son Heung-min.

Mikel Arteta’s side however held on to win the game to put pressure on title rivals Manchester City.
