Paris Saint-German manager Mauricio Pochettino claimed Lionel Messi is the ‘best player in the world’ ahead of his side’s UEFA Champions League clash against Real Madrid.
Messi has endured a difficult start to life at the club following his arrival from Barcelona last summer.
The 34-year-old has scored seven goals and provided 11 assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
The Argentine has been overshadowed by Kylian Mbappe ,who has already notched up 24 goals and 17 assists in 34 appearances so far this term.
“Messi is the best in the world with seven Ballon d’Or trophies, then we have great players who aspire to be the best,” Pochettino told reporters on Tuesday.
“Kylian [Mbappe]’s form speaks for itself. He’s among those players who are the best and who are shining brightest.”Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
