Rashford’s Brother Arrested In US On Domestic Violence Charge

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford’s brother, Dane Rashford, was reportedly arrested and set to appear in court following allegations of domestic violence in the United States.

According to police records, Dane was arrested on 20 October in Florida’s Miami Beach and appeared in court the following day where the bond for his release ahead of his pre-trial hearing was set at $1,500.

The Telegraph, via Mirror, reported that his charge was later registered on 24 October as a  misdemeanour of battery, which was further defined as domestic violence.

Dane was pictured in official police arrest photographs after he was brought in. He has also been issued with a pre-trial ‘stay away order’, whereby the court in the state of Florida has declared Dane must not contact the victim.

Florida court documents also reveal Dane’s bond was paid by Chantelle Maynard one week after his arrest.

He is no longer in prison after posting bail, while he has pleaded not guilty. Dane faces a further hearing on 27 November.

According to a source close to the situation, the lawyer appointed on the case, Alex Spiro Quinn Emanuel, has put the record straight, clarifying that it was a private matter that has amicably been resolved and everyone has moved on.

The source also clarified that Dane is not Marcus’ agent as has been wrongly reported by some media.

“The facts of this case are not as reported. I expect the case to be dismissed,” Alex Spiro, Quinn Emanuel stated.

In Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League, Rashford was shown a straight red card for a dangerous tackle on a Copenhagen player.

United were 2-0 up before Rashford was sent off after a check on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

Copenhagen went on to win 4-3 to leave United bottom in the group.
