Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has been confirmed to take over from Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid manager come next season after both parties agreed on a deal.
Alonso is due to leave at the end of the season and is ready to sign a three-year contract immediately following the FIFA Club World Cup, according to a report published in MARCA.
This also confirms that Ancelotti will leave his position after winning 15 trophies, including three Champions League and two LaLiga titles during his time with Los Blancos.

An elegant midfielder, Alonso joined Madrid in August 2009, winning LaLiga and two Copas del Rey, before claiming a Champions League medal — coached by Ancelotti — in 2014.
After retiring as a player in 2017, he began coaching at Real Madrid’s academy and then took a job with hometown club Real Sociedad’s B-team, before joining Leverkusen.
