Nigeria Professional Football League club, Rivers United FC has commended the League Management Company (LMC) over the professional manner in which the 2019/20 season has been organized.
Speaking on behalf of the club, General Manager, Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu said the unpreceedented number of away wins recorded so far this season shows a marked improvement from previous seasons.
“This season has been one of the best in recent times in the NPFL until the coronavirus pandemic saw the league suspended.
“Officiating has been top notch too and away wins regularly recorded by virtually all clubs in the top division.

“Nothing is perfect so even though there are one or two grey areas that can be improved upon, it is clear that the LMC and indeed the NPFL is on the right path and we are aware of all the professional efforts the LMC is putting in place to improve the technical and business aspects of the league including the new Broadcast and sponsorship arrangement which is about to commence.,” Chief Kpalukwu who is also a Director on the LMC board concluded.
Meanwhile, Rivers United FC has dissociated itself from comments made in some sections of the media by its Technical Manager, Stanley Eguma which appeared to question the effort being made in developing the League.
Rivers United wishes to make it clear that Eguma’s comments do not reflect the views of the club.
However, Eguma has since apologised for any inconveniences caused by his comments and necessary interval review is being undertaking to avoid future occurrence.
Consequently, Rivers Utd wish to apologise to LMC and the NPFL clubs for this avoidable action of our coach.
