Rodgers Earmarks ‘One That Got Away’ For Foxes Swoop

Brendan Rodgers wants to sign John McGinn for Leicester this summer after missing out on him when Aston Villa beat Celtic to a deal.

The Mirror claim the new Foxes manager is keen to bring the all-action midfielder to King Power Stadium. McGinn is one of three players that Rodgers wants to attract to the club this summer, as he looks to put his stamp on the team.

The Northern Irishman lost out on the 24-year-old’s signature last summer after he joined Villa despite Celtic placing a £3million bid.

Failing to get that transfer over the line is rumoured to be one of the key reasons Rodgers decided to quit the Scottish champions midway through the season to take up his new post.

McGinn has missed Villa’s last two games after picking up his tenth booking of the season against Stoke City, but the Scotland international is set to return when Villa travel to local rivals Birmingham City next weekend.
