Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, has praised Nigerian footballers for their obedience and respectfulness.
Rohr, 67, was appointed Super Eagles coach in 2016 and has qualified the team to the AFCON and FIFA World Cup.
And speaking in the podcast “Leadertalk” with German television channel Sport1, Rohr said:”There are so many different footballers and people in Nigeria and they all have to form a team that is marching in the same direction. It’s a very interesting task. I still enjoy it.

“You have to be ready to be inspired everywhere, to be able to adapt, not to be afraid of new things. It takes tolerance but also hard work.”
“In Nigeria, the players have a lot of respect for the personality of the coach. They are very obedient.
“The elderly enjoy a lot of respect here. They are not just deported to homes, they stay in the family and are always listened to. That’s wonderful.
“The older people get, the more respect they get. It’s nice to see how the players implement this, including the big stars like Obi Mikel, Victor Moses or Vincent Enyeama.”
Rohr and his players will be back in action in March when they will be guests to Benin Republic on matchday five of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

My opinion on genart rohr has changed,I now know why he is insisting on ighalo returning to the team,ighalo seems to be the most lethal striker we in Nigeria,ighalo played in Italy,Spain, England ,China and now Saudi Arabia and he’s been prolific,he did well in those league while osimehn floped in Germany,did well in Belgium and France, becoming a flop in Italy,we can’t trust him to lead the line for our attack,I believe that rohr has seen these things,hence his insistence on bringing back ighalo.onuachu ,oyekwuru, iheanacho have been tried and they all failed.i used to be rohr number 1 critic but I will now cut him some slag ,cos I can now see what he sees.pls this is my opinion,u are free to have ur own opinion.

Balogun played as RB and did well because of the coach behind the instructions this same Balogun will mess up in that role if tinkered by Rohr.
After coaching Bordeaux in 1996 which other reasonable country hired Rohr and what did he achieve with them before coming to naija? Yes he had a good beginning with us but for the last two years what has been his results? These days you can’t put your hope on SE to win against average teams you make plans to enjoy a match with FAF and end up in pain after drawing or loosing. Already the dirty excuses is fast rolling in again for matches that we are expected to win and qualify with ease.
