Rohr Not Good Enough For Super Eagles -Orji Kalu

Rohr Not Good Enough For Super Eagles -Orji Kalu

Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to sack Gernot Rohr as manager of the Super Eagles.

Kalu made this known via his Facebook page, where he said that the NFF must find a quick replacement for the German tactician if he’s not doing the right thing.

Recall that Rohr’s Super Eagles recently qualified for the knockout stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after playing a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde on Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.

He said, “In the last five years, we have wasted our time in football. There is nothing new we are doing any longer. To see a country with many professional players home and abroad struggling to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup is heartbreaking. Gernot Rohr is not a good coach and I don’t understand why he is still managing Super Eagles.

“When I Was Governor, he applied to become employed as Enyimba coach. He was brought to Nigeria by Oscar Udoji but I refused to employ him. I am calling on the Chairman of NFF, Mr Amaju Pinnick to wake up and to quickly find a replacement for Rohr. We soccer lovers don’t need further dissatisfaction in a game, we have the capacity to make ourselves proud.

“If the problems you have this year are the same problems you had last year, then you are not a leader. You are rather a problem on your own that must be solved,” the Senator shared on Facebook.

  • You all should not worry by the end of today all these noise about rohr would have become history, csn there is no need to ask another ex player to remind us again.

All effort should gear toward rohr replacement.

@omo9ja bring out the names of the coaches you have been scouting since.

Rohr!!!! As it is now I will advice you to accept the out come of NFF on going meeting in good faith and move ahead in your career.

  • SAMUEL 2 years ago

My brother since that match against Sierra Leone from 4goals up and they equalized Nigeria, that was when rohr lost his position. For those of you praising Rohr for his past achievements, well you can now open your eyes and see very well.Nigeria has gone beyond Genort Rohr tactics !!!

His pattern can easily be study and executive well. Please we are moving forward and not backward

    • Godswill Diego 2 years ago

Me I lost confidence in Rohr the day Nigeria lost to Madagascar in AFCON. Have you heard of Madagascar since then? Rohr is a Rohrbish coach, he created a lots of new low for SE.

  • Yusuf 2 years ago

So Rohr applied to coach Enyimba and was not given the job ..lol

And thereafter, luck fell on his side, he got to coach the national team, no wonder he’s been treated badly and man kept his cool…lol

I knee it, if Rohr was that good, he would have been snatched up by another African team.

NFF go accept wetin club side reject..lol

BTW…it’s been a while since I’ve seen Dr Drey on CSN o..

Nff do the needful and sack this incompetent, technically deficient coach before millions of soccer loving Nigerians develop b.p. because of his tactical ineptitude. God bless Nigeria.

  • CSN, why??? Must you give your platform for a corrupt politician to be noisy? Why CSN? Pls stop it.

    • Yusuf 2 years ago

Wonders shall never end, only in Nigeria. A man who failed to perform as a governor of his state, confirmed to have looted their treasury is here accusing a successful coach. Fulish man.

  • Charles 2 years ago

What makes me angry more is benching Ejuke,Chukwueze and bringing Shehu instead of Ola Aina. Benching Sanusi that’s playing with big boys and in champions league for some one playing in division 2 of German league, what kind of disrespect is that, Bassey came and he still benched him. I like him but No he needs to go

    • Charles 2 years ago

Simon Moses have power but not good enough to start ahead of ejuke and chukuweze, what is ighalo doing in super eagles while we have likes of Onahchu and Awoniyi,a primary school student can manage this players very well more than our coach, even to sub early na problem. please let him go.. Good luck to him

    • Not now my brother and not at this stage of the qualifiers…….we are in a critical time now and if we rock the boat it will definitely cost us our WC tickets…..Rhor needs to finish what he started then we settle down and find another coach……NFF should start scouting for the best coach from now on to avoid panic searching for coach later……. Finding a good coach is not what we do in a haste.

    • Michel 2 years ago

My brother no be only u.law of diminishing returns has set in,don’t forget he invited ighalo instead of Awoniyi,Dennis ,onyekwuru ,Sadiq and co

  • Personally I will want him to leave the job for them since they are not satisfy with his effort. All i know is that Nigeria football can never be better if those corrupt clowns are still running it if they like they should hire Guardiola and Klopp which we can’t even afford.

  • See who is talking……Na wa o…..Now every tom dick and Harry has a say in our football……Oya come and remove Rhor na……What did you achieve as governor of abia state?…… looting and looting and maybe his boys in the glass house that need money wants Rhor out of the way so they can rock the boat and create panic so they can cash out…….How can you sack someone that has met all his targets?……We know Rhor is lacking in many ways but atleast we want to manage him like that until he fails to deliver on any of his targets then we do the needful…….but until then nobody has the right to touch Rhor.

    • Nonso 2 years ago

Do you know how much Orji looted to win those trophies? And who trophies help? Does castigating Rohr gives him a clean bill of health? You only need to know how Orji looted my State. You must also be a thief to be supporting one.

  • SAMUEL 2 years ago

Genort Rohr has been sacked already !!! Details coming…

    • @samuel that is not true…..NFF is solidly behind Rhor and no meeting is holding at the moment to discuss Rhor’s faith.

  • Michel 2 years ago

Lol so rohr was denied Enyimba job,he is a journey man indeed, plz let this good news that I’m hearing about his sack be true plz,I can’t wait.

  • De Star 2 years ago

@Yinkus ; SE is the last bust stop of Oga Rohr career with not even Tea cup in his CV even , if he is allowed to go to both Afcon and WC ; at 68 without any achievements with solitary bronze medal that no any of our local coaches was ever praised or rewarded for winning Afcon sliver as chief Onigbinde.

I can bet it with you after on or before Afcon ; Rohr would be a gunner and will retired finally from coaching because, football coaching is never his calling ; there can never been any corrupt country that can offer him team Manger role let alone Technical adviser ; that Nigeria ranked N0 1 corrupt nation in the world is never exaggerated, Oga Rohr fraudulent employment and been the longest serving Nigerian coach of almost 6 years speaks volumes of how corrupt Nigerian nation is, particularly Amaju Pinnick led NFF; it does not take other tinny African countries more than a year to discover that Rohr is clueless before sacking him in 3 countries…..

And it does not take less than 12 hours before former Abia Governor Orji Kalu as in the above interview to note that Eyimba was far bigger than Belmadi tutored boy Rohr , by dismissing his application to coach Eyimba .

@ Nonso ; we are taking of football, you are talking of politics; please go and join APC , PDP OR APGA forums to talk politics.
Orji Kalu is a Nigerian celebrated football stakeholder and club administrator record holder that his record in football club Administration remain unmatched ; so give it to him and respect his deserved respect on football matters

    • Oakfield 2 years ago

Not even a tea cup in his cv??? If he hasn’t won a tea cup, I wonder who won the bronze afcon trophy sitting in the glass house today that eluded many notable teams in Africa 2years ago. Maybe na ur ancestor win that one. Liar. All that emenate from ur mouth are lies, nothing more. Lie Mohammed

    • But Rhor qualified us for Afcon and WC which other coaches couldn’t do before Rhor came……Rhor has brought harmony and calm to SE….. Rhor has blooded very excited young talents into SE(Chukwueze Kingsley Innocent Onyeka Awoniyi Osimhen Zaidu Kalu and many more)…….Rhor has made qualification for major tournament a simple thing for us…… Rhor just needs to be bold to take risk……Rhor just needs to play a more attacking style of play…… Rhor just needs to be a little more flexible in his resolve…….I think we should keep him till at least after the WC if he can qualify us.

    • De star@you connote your name from your intelligence comments. I don’t do social media but whenever I see your name I would follow you. You are more intelligent to be 9ja I’m not flattering you.

  • @AKP NFF is currently sitting on rohr matter. But we may think rohr is our problem in Nigeria, alas everybody we all should remember that it is this change of a thing we were all singing some years back.

Se we have seen where the change has brought us to and where is probably taking us too.

We have many peculiar problem that will always make it imposible for any coach to diliver in Nigeria.

I hope whoever that will take over should be ready to raise a team that can beat any other team in Africa within a space of one or two months.

    • My brother I fear anything change in Nigeria like a plague……Our change is always a disaster in the making……I made some calls now and I found out that Rhor’s future was not put forward for debate during the meeting…… so hopefully he will stay.

  • Ayphillydegreat 2 years ago

NFF are waiting for ManU to sack Ole so that pounce on him to take the SuperEagles to the next level with a target to win the WorldCup even if they don’t qualify Lmao!! See me see Naija!!!!

  • Oakfield 2 years ago

Thief…. Onye oshi! Have u returned all the money u looted in abia state when u were governor? Or the money of the road contracts awarded to u that u never executed???? When It comes to incompetence u are number 1 the pecking order. U want to recommend a coach that you’ll drag into ur net of corruption abi? We know that since rohr came on board, the usual football bustling business that was thriving to the detriment of our football has been put on hold which has greatly affected a lot of corrupt elements including you and your football agencies. Hunger have been killing una ever since and you want to come and hide under the veil of the coache’s incompetence to install an engunje master so that that una evil biz go start again. It shall not be well with u evil minded people. Did I hear u say we struggled to qualify for afcon and world cup??? May I remind u sir that the eagles qualified for next year’s afcon with a game to spare and qualified for the world cup as group winners without the use of calculators as was the case before he came. Go and face efcc first and answer for your crimes first before coming to remove a speck in another man’s eye. Ndi ara!

  • If Rohr must stay he should have criteria in place for inviting players. If Rohr musta stay he should stop this one sided loyalty to Musa and co.

But in all honesty rohr has to go men. March will not be pleasant with rohr in charge I can already feel it.

  • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

A lot of teams fired average coaches and got immediate Results after replacing with decent ones, a good coach is a good coach there is nothing like critical time in football anymore. Chelsea did with Lampard and hired Tuchel, Totheham got rid of Nuno and got Conte, Ghana got Rajevac, Egypt also hired a better coach and all made positive impacts. Should we wait until we get humiliated before we start building with the right Coach? I would want us to Go for the coach of Benin republic since Saudi Arabia will not let us have Herve Renard. Football has developed much more if you look at small teams well handled by smart coach examples are these Asian countries like Saudi Arabia, Iran and even Benin republic that narrowly lost the playoff ticket to DRC Congo. NFF should wake up now and weed this dumbass now or loose the future of Nigeria football.

  • AFCON too for that matter.

CN must put it in their recorded that it was a Nigerian thief they interviewed. Oyishi!!?!

  • You see guys don’t blame rohr blame nff who has succeeded in making super eagles a low team to the world my massage to the nff is that they should be truthful and be professional in their decision making cus sometimes the way they take some of their decision they should be transparent and put eagles first in their heart

  • Henry 2 years ago

    in their record

  • GLORY 2 years ago

If Rohr ever gets sacked, he should sit back and blame himself only. In this football coaching business, you must learn to carry majority of fans along, that is, if it’s becoming impossible to carry everyone along. But recently, it seems Rohr has been only trying to carry some few egg head political thieves along neglecting the cry of the majority of fans. I feel for him but Nigeria comes first in this matter.

NFF is holding a meeting trying to solve the Rohr problem.
But wait. NFF is actually the main problem!
So our main problem is attempting to solve the Rohr problem?
    How can problem solve problem?

Rohr owns Hotel De Pins, a boutique hotel located in Bordeaux, France.
If he is sacked, he can go and concentrate on his hotel business.
The bobo don hear weeeen for Naija. He has a story to tell when he gets back home.

    • Dennis 2 years ago

Rorh might not be the best but then I ask, if you hire the best, can you pay him? If we hire Zidane, can we pay his wages without owing? Will the NFF be able to force players on him like they always do? Your guess is as good as mine
I see people saying rorh hasn’t won anything for us in more than 5 years. The question is how many competitions has he played in 5 years? Just 2-AFCON and the World Cup. We were never gonna win the World Cup that’s for sure. We did stand a chance of winning the AFCON but before rorh took charge, we missed 2 consecutive nations cup. He got us third place which showed progression after missing out on 2 occasions
Rorh’s next target was to qualify us for the next nations cup,win the nations cup as well as qualify for the World Cup. We’ve qualified for the nations cup and also heading for the World Cup play offs.
Rorh isn’t a saint but he has done well considering were he picked us from. If the NFF were to sack him, they’ll have to pay him off. This same NFF still owes him unpaid wages. How then do they raise the money because he has met all targets set
I saw one simpleton say we should hire Lampard. Seriously? What has he won as a coach? Can we afford him? You all remember Clarence seedorf’s stint in charge of cameroun. How did that end?
If we sack rorh, it must be a coach of better pedigree. We all saw how players and coaches fought in camp during previous era but never saw it under rorh. We must tread carefully but the most important thing is to see our football grow higher

  • George Okoh 2 years ago

Pls sack Rohr now. In the 2018 world cup qualifier we were paired with Algeria and cameron. We beat both sides who were in disarray then.Algeria got better organised and dumped us at the nation’s cup. In the last friendly with Cameron were beaten. These are some of the teams we will be meeting at the last round. They are improving and we are going down. To hang on his incompetency he is taking order from some powerful members of the FA or else what is Shehu, Musa, Akpehe doing in the national team while good players are kept out

  • Oakfield 2 years ago

Nigerians forget so easily. Just few years ago, the same treatment that is being mettted out on rohr was Exaclty meted on Keshi of blessed memory. The same man that is being revered today as one of our best coaches, often used as a yardstick to judge others had his sack letter already printed during the group stages of the 2013 afcon, lots of people called him unprintable names like kick and follow caoch, some even attached tribal sentiments to their attacks but lo and behold, he sprung surprises at the nick of time and turned the tar around. All those who spoke evil of him were brought to their knees. They begged him like a baby when he decided to resign after he had shown the world his worth. The same thing is just in the cards to happen to Nigeria. The only difference would be that rohr may never reconsider and we all shall be plunged head long in to the dungeon of no return except by God’s devine intervention like he did by bringing us this man when we were in a state of hopelessness. We should be careful what we wish for. Amodu was relieved of his duties after qualifying us for the 2002 world cup. We all know how it all panned out when a headmaster was appointed the coach and took us to the world cup. Karma later visited us and it was a shambolic outing. The current buhari evil administration is an answer to our prayers when we wanted change and God answered us by giving us the real change we desired. There are a lot of hawks and vultures in the country and here on this forum who are scheming behind the scenes to have this man removed so that they can have their evil corrupt ways again. Statistically speaking, no one should even think of relieving rohr of his duties bcs he has met the targets given to him. He has results to show for his stewardship and should be allowed to finish what he started and eventually leave when those same statistics and results start speaking against him. Let us be properly guided.

  • If they sack this man. The next coach is the Koko. It’s scary mhen… But please let it be from Spanish or Netherland
