Roundup: Ighalo Misses Spot Kick In Shenhua Home Defeat; Shehu On Target; Simon, Collins Also In Action

Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo missed a penalty on his return to action as Shanghai Shenhua suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Tianjin Teda in their Chinese Super League clash on Sunday, reports Completesports.com.

Ighalo, who picked up an injury on international duty with Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in July and had been out of action since then, took the place of Stephan El Shaarawy in the 55th minute.

Ighalo earned a penalty kick when he was brought down inside the box in the box in the 82nd minute, missed the chance to score a consolation goal for Shenhua as his kick was was saved by Tianjin Teda goalkeeper Due Jia.

In Turkey, Shehu Abdullahi was on target in Bursaspor 3-1 home win against Osmanlispor.

Abdullahi opened scoring for Bursaspor three minutes before the half hour mark.

Moses Simon featured for 90 minutes as FC Nantes recorded a 1-0 home win against Reims.

Simon was replaced by Samuel Moutoussamy on the stroke of 90 minutes.

In Germany, Jamilu Collins was in action for 90 minutes as Paderborn were thrashed 5-1 at home by Schalke 04.

It was Collins’ fourth league appearance for the club this season.

Paderborn are without a win in the Bundesliga this season.
