Sadiq Set To Replace Ivorian Striker Haller At Ajax

Super Eagles and Almeria striker Umar Sadiq could replace Côte d’Ivoire star Sebastien Haller at Netherlands giants Ajax.

Haller is close to joining Borussia Dortmund who are expected to splash out £33 million on the striker who netted 47 goals in 66 games for Ajax.

The former West Ham man is touted as replacement for Erling Haaland who has joined Premier League champions Manchester City.

And according to Tuttomercatoweb, Ajax see Sadiq as a readymade replacement for Haller.

Just recently, Sadiq told GOAL: “For now, I am playing at Almeria and I have a contract with them. And also, I’m enjoying my football in Spain. But I don’t know what the future brings.”

The former Roma and Rangers striker helped Almeria emerge winners of the Spanish second division and also promotion to the top flight.

He netted 19 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for Almeria last campaign.

It will be a big shame if Sadiq does not join a big club after all these speculation linking him with Valencia, Athletico Madrid et al. I wish him all the best

I dont know if this is true or not. The other day their was an article here saying benfica wanted him. But either is a step forward because he is going to be playing in a uefa competition. Tired of seeing players moving backward like signing for a relegated or soon to be relegated team, or crystal palace a below mid table team. Ajax is always in champions league like psg. He will be actually winning trophies locally.
