Umar Sadiq’s Almeria will mark their return to the Spanish topflight with a tough home game against league champions Real Madrid on match day one.
This was confirmed on Thursday when the fixtures for the 2022/23 league campaign was released by Royal Spanish Football Federation.
The game comes up on Sunday August 14.
Sadiq helped propel Almeria to gain promotion to LaLiga after scoring 18 goals in the Segunda division last season.
Almeria achieved promotion after emerging as champions, ending a seven-year stint in the second-tier.
For Madrid, they will be hoping for another impressive campaign following success in the league and UEFA Champions League.
For Samuel Chukwueze and Villarreal, they will be guests to Real Valladolid in their first game of the season.
For Xavi and his Barcelona team they will welcome Rayo Vallecano at the Nou Camp for their opening fixture.
Meanwhile, the first Clasico takes place at the Santiago Bernabeu on October 16th and the second one takes place at Camp Nou on March 19th.
