This contract thing should have been done and dusted much earlier. Anyway, good to hear it is close to completion.
Man City 3 Arsenal 0. Hmmm. Well, Saka had an ok game. Aubameyang also tried. But their best performer was their goalie Leno, whose heroics ensured that City did not score up to 10 goals. Shambolic defending by the Arsenal team as a whole. It seems they were practicing “social distancing” during the game, just allowing City players all kinds of time and space to wreck havoc. When you give time and space to guys like Kevin Debruyne, David Silva and Riyadh Mahrez, you invite disaster.
While many have singled out David Luiz for blame due to his unconvincing showing, I think the entire defence needs to shoulder the responsibility for this crushing defeat. Arteta perhaps needs to remind his players that social distancing should be practiced off the pitch, not on it! Half hearted tackles and failure to close down opposing players will not get the job done in the premier league, or any top league for that matter.
