Saka, Davies, Fati Make 2020 Golden Boy Award 40-Man Shortlist 

Arsenal exciting young winger Bukayo Saka, Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies and Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, made the 40-man shortlist for the 2020 Golden Boy award, Completesports.com reports.

The trio are among the 40 names confirmed today  (Wednesday) from the list of 100 which was originally drawn up in June.

Saka had a memorable season for Arsenal last campaign after providing 12 assists and scoring four goal.

His impressive performance saw him voted Arsenal’s third best player.

Davies was outstanding for Bayern who secured the treble making them the second European club (after Barcelona) to achieve the feat.

Other players who made the 40-man shortlist are Phil Foden of Manchester City, Mason Greenwood of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund duo Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.

The Golden Boy award honours the best young player under 21 in Europe for the calendar year.

It was established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003 and its winner is determined by votes from 40 journalists across the continent.

Portugal and Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix claimed the award last year. 

Past winners include Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial, Mario Balotelli and Kylian Mbappe.

    The NFF president should do more for youth football developmnt. He should fulfill his promise of appointing the age-grade (U17 and U20 male) coaches now. He promised two weeks and by next Tuesday 22nd September, 2020,, it will be exactly two weeks. We do not want to here of any delay from Philip Consulting again. He should know that U17 Male zonal elimination tournament in Benin republic for West-Africa to Qualify for U17 AFCON Championship in Morocco next year March 2021, will take place next month October 17 – 31, 2020. Note Ghana has resume preparation since 15th September, 2020 in spite of Covid’19 (Ghanasoccernet, com) We will not take excuses of not been able to prepare or because of covid’19. We have been crying on this appointment since March,2020, Please appoint the coaches now Mr. Pinnick, I keep on saying “Time waits for nobody and time is money”. The time for the appointment is now.
