Simon Agrees Personal Terms With Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have reportedly agreed personal terms with Nigeria winger Moses Simon, reports Completesports.com.

According to Foot Mercato, Ligue 1 club, Nantes are now expecting an imminent offer for the player.

Simon has previously been linked with Premier League clubs Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United.

The 27-year-old reportedly agreed personal terms with another Ligue 1 side, OGC Nice earlier in the summer but the club failed to meet Nantes’ valuation.

Simon joined Nantes from LaLiga club Levante in 2020 after a year on loan at the club in 2019.

He has scored 21 goals and provided 22 assists in 102 appearances for the Canaries.

Last season Simon helped the side win the Coupe de France and secure a ninth place finish in France’s top tier.

These Nigerian players are useless. How can you leave a great Nantes for a relegation team in England. Moses Simon should have easily gone to Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool or even just manage Arsenal or, at worst Tottenham. Mediocrity is the middle name of Nigeria’s players.

    • He should just carry his bấg ànd went straight to chelsea abi,,,,mugu

      loose talk

    • This guy you lack sense,

    • Did know football at all? Nottingham forest is a big club to Nantes, check the wage of the two club before you call Nigeria players useless, the guy dey look the money first and you also think it easy to just move to Chelsea, Manchester city or Liverpool easily African player for that matter.

  • But i once heard Leeds Utd, Newcastle Utd and Brighton once spoke with this guy, well… With Awoniyi, Simon and Jesse lingard even heard they are on Dennis,Ouar and Emmerson, may be they can perform miracle but @Simon, I expect better movement as per one of Naija poster boys.

  • Aouar****

  • When we tell you most Nigeria players are average you will say we are not patriotic. That is where they belong see your Emmanuel Daniel being courted by same Nottingham forest while SAR his compatriot is being courted by Man utd,Liverpool etc. Reports has it that he was being watched by Man utd technical director Stephen Fletcher during their last match against Westbrom

Because of Mane and a few other Senegalese players doing so well in Europe for top teams i think big clubs trust them more.
This has given Senegal advantage in the transfer markets recently especially at top clubs.

  • Believe in yourself

  • Well…I don’t want to believe this yet, bigger club can still come out to hijack the deal. This guy is better than Sancho whom has lost his tricks lately, better than hodson-Odoi, better than Gray and Townsend , better than Ayew and Shlupp, better than Pepe, even that overhyped Grealish has been playing nonsense lately. I still prefer Newcastle because they are on their way to become Man City due to their new rich owner and if this Nottinghamm deal happens, I’m sure he’ll be spending only a season there.

Nigeria players never have good management or agency or agents to represent them so what do we expect

  • Well… I still don’t want to accept it since a bigger club could yet show up and sabotage the deal. This player outperforms Sancho, who has recently lost his edge, Hodson-Odoi, Gray, Townsend, Ayew, and Shlupp, Pepe, and even the overrated Grealish, who has recently been playing foolishness. I still favor Newcastle because, with to their new wealthy owner, they are on the verge of becoming Manchester City. If the Nottinghamm deal goes through, I’m confident that the player will only stay there for one season.

  • Nigerian media is the problem Nigerian players have… Just imagine complete sports…

Nigerian players are not average but we play a different style of football to most of Africa. Nigerian players are the most skillful in Africa able to dribble and go past their opponents with guile as exemplified by Nwankwo Kanu and Jay Jay Okocha.
Other African teams, Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, etc. are strong and physical. They are athletic with the physical strength that they use on the pitch.
English football, in particular, loves players – especially black players, with athleticism and physical strength. Mane for instance is not a dribbler, he is fast with speedy acceleration and clinical in front of goal.
So a lot of successful African players (Drogba, Essien, Toure…) come from these countries. Nigerian football and North African football are the only alternative successful footballing styles to this standard physical and athletic style on the continent.
Our football of skill and guile is fitting for Italy, which is why we’re getting a lot of players going to Italy to make their name. And like Osimhen they’re becoming superstar players.
If you’re Nigerian and want to be the best England is not the place to develop your career. Only come to England when you’ve achieved a reputation and can dictate terms otherwise they’ll end up using you more as a physical ‘African-type’ athletic player than as a skilful Nigerian player.
Lastly, I fear this Nottingham Forest game of hiring Nigerians. It is very similar to Watford last year. Unsucessfully fighting relegation demoralizes players as confidence plays a big part of a footballer’s psyche. You start thinking you’re not a good player.

Nottingham is not bigger than Nantes, Nantes has been exit still for along time at Lig One , but Nottingham has been exit still for a long time in English second league, Nantes somtimes participates at Europa Leauge or Europe Conferance these are great Europe compititions. Nigerian player lacked a confidence in him self to join big clubs because he see that players from Senegal, Cote de Ivore, Cameroon, Ghana have an excellent strength , physical builds which grant them priority for big clubs in Europe to choose them; also Nigerian player’s greedy agents who always take a comissions from small clubs so that they will ensure then secure player’s signature for these clubs like Super Eagles who join tiny club Watford than to join Arsenal or Manchester or Liverpool; Super Eagles player’s clubs do not allow them to join big clubs because SE player is acute, modest obey coaching instructions so much, talented and smart who can clear coaching tactical training quickly , also SE player can merger with his colleauges so quickly which grant him solidarity with his colleauges and how to clear team style of play; big clubs in Europe always demand atheltic players from west Africa just as Cameroon, Senegal, Cote De Ivore , Ghana just they demand defensive midfield players, SE players haven’t athelticism trait who can do well on this function; all these factors can’t allow SE players to join big clubs now and in future time.

I think it’s a matter of management, iheanacho was in city, Ndidi is getting good pay in Leicester, Chukwueze is Villarreal 11,Osimhen is Naples target man, isaac success is a starter for udinese… talk of bassey, lookman and Marino… only Senegalese players comes close to Nigerian players abroad… it is a management issue… Mike was at Chelsea for years but never recieved 100k per week but essien, Drogba, kalou did I guess
