Smith Relishing Robins Challenge

Tony Smith says he is relishing the chance to be back in Super League after being confirmed as the new Hull KR head coach. The Robins moved extremely quickly to snap up the former Leeds Rhinos and Warrington Wolves boss, after deciding to part company with fellow Australian Tim Sheens.

Having put pen to paper on an initial short-term deal until the end of the season, Smith says he is looking forward to getting started at Rovers and trying to help them climb up from second-bottom in the Super League table. “It’s a great opportunity to get back coaching again,”

Smith told Hull KR TV. “It’s been a whirlwind couple of days, but I’m very excited about the opportunity. “I’ve had a good break and I’m very excited. With the talent available, there’s a good, strong chance of climbing the ladder to a place which is far greater to where we are at this moment.”
