Spalletti: I Was Forced To Play ‘Half Fit’ Osimhen Against Cagliari

Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti has revealed that Victor Osimhen passed a late fitness test to feature in Monday’s Serie A clash against Cagliari, reports Completesports.com.

Osimhen started the game on the bench and replaced Andre Petagna in the 67th minute.

The Nigeria international scored a late equaliser as Napoli battled their hosts to a 1-1 draw.

“It was a complicated game for us, Cagliari deserved more. In fact, we deserved something less. We never took the game into our own hands, even though we had more possession. They wanted to play this game here and we wanted to play another,” Spalletti told DAZN after the game.

“We have to be happy with the result because it happens to everyone after these Europa League games. We did too little in terms of quality. Don’t say it’s everyone any more, every time it happens in two days we lose 4-5 players. It was good of Osimhen to be available at the last second, he was at risk of not being in the game.

“Fabian had a problem, he was in pain, to play more than 20 minutes was a risk. As we saw in Barcelona, with his head broken with the eight points he wanted to come back and play the last 30 minutes.”

Nigeria better start looking for another formidable striker. Osimeh is becoming too prone to injuries.

    • He was being rested for Barcelona that is what the coach is implying, God Forbid what prone to injuries are you speaking off?. All of Osimhen Injuries if you take note are not from Muscle wear and tear it is from freak accidents i.e Shoulder in fall, and Cheek bone damage.

That is why i am not concerned he is a strong boy. and will play against Barca. anybody who knows (Mister) Spalletti as he is fondly called in Italia will know he plays mind games alot with his opposition hence before the Barca match he literally made people believe Osibobo was injured until the last hour of the game and boom Osimhen was on the List.

Abeg Osimhen is not prone to Injuries he is a machine!

Naija, you’re right. Osimhen seems to be injury prone. We need more formidable strikers to compete with him, and replace him when he’s not available.

      • See people talking as if super Talent is something you can just find Chai!!! na wa o. as the saying goes if you no sabi you no sabi.. Let Real Madrid just go and find another Ronaldo or Zidane, Maybe Brazil should just walk in a Shop and pick up another Pele or Ronaldinho lol!!!. Kids.

        • That is why Nigeria is still Searching for another Okocha. Hence the saying is clear Sense is something we are born with.

Like I used to tell Dr Fraud and u @Pompei is ass licker Osimhen is an X factor Player a rare kind of player..

Maybe Norway should just find another Haaland because Haaland is injury prone HAHAHAHAHAH!!!

You people make me laugh really!

Some people like to talk out of their anus. Anus is for excreting, not talking.
If you have nothing reasonable to say, MECHIONU NEBA!
Osimhen has been injured twice in the last 6 months. Spalleti is again saying he didn’t start Osimhen because of injury. IS THAT NOT THE DEFINITION OF INJURY PRONE?
If you no sabi speak English, just google the word and find the meaning.

They can spew any nonsense they want and then bring him in to rescue them from a lost match. They should just release him for WC play off with Ghana. That is all that matters to us..gbam! All this mind games he is playing with his opponents have nothing to do with us. Match day with Ghana, Osimhen must be wearing our jersey and in camp. We will need him to “rescue” us also. Yeye dey smell!

Osimeh like many other Nigerians doesn’t need full fitness to be at the top of their game.

  • The game you and your Napoli miracle doctor play on Nigerians will not work this time arround.

Spaleti just release oshime other wise fans on this forum will release words into your life and it may never remain the same again.

Yes o! That is why when I see headlines like “Osimhen in a race to be fit to Nigeria WC payoff” and then turn to my TV and see the same Osimhen playing, I’m like these mofos must think all Nigerians are ignorant. smh. Mr Spatula or whatever your name is, you must release Osimhen or we will all join hand curse you o.
