Tottenham are ready to launch a bid for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, who has impressed while on loan at Everton this season. The midfielder has made 28 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees after arriving at the start of the campaign, and Blues boss Marco Silva would like to make the deal permanent.
However, it would appear that he now faces strong competition from Spurs, who have been keeping a close eye on his performances in the Everton midfield. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has a new midfielder high on his wanted list and has identified Gomes as a possible replacement for Christian Eriksen, who continues to be linked with a move away.
It has been claimed that Tottenham are ready to offer Barca £26million, and although Everton could also match that figure, Spurs are in the box seat to do a deal. Tottenham will be able to offer Champions League football next season, and that could be enough to win the day.
