Tella Bags Assist As Leverkusen Thrash Bayern, Extend Unbeaten Run To 31 Games

Nathan Tella bagged an assist as Bayer Leverkusen thrashed Bayern Munich 3-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

The win against Bayern means Leverkusen remained unbeaten for the 31st competitive match in a row in all competitions (27 wins and four draws).

Leverkusen are just one game short of the record for a Bundesliga team.

Bayern hold the record as they remained undefeated in 32 consecutive competitive matches under Hansi Flick from 2019 to 2020.

In Saturday’s fixture, Tella provided the assist for Leverkusen’s second goal scored by Alex Grimaldo in the 50th minute.

Tella was then replaced in the 65th minute for Jeremie Frimpong.

Leverkusen, on 55 points, extend their lead over second placed Bayern to five points after 21 league games played this season.

It was Tella’s 12th league appearance with four goals for Xabi Alonso’s side.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface is still out injured.

Tella needs to come and displace the duo of wasteful and indecisive Moses Simon and Chukwueze respectively!

Also waiting for Tosin Adarabioyo and Gabriel Osho to come and replace Zaidau Sanusi (Calvin Bassey moves to LWB) and Semi Ajayi respectively!

SE finally looking like a DREAM TEAM with the addition of these players and the returnees Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Boniface and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Will also want to see Michael Folorunsho replace Joe Aribo in Central Midfield

    • Semi Ajayi is here to stay, if he complete today final, he will be the only player to play 100% of this AFCON, not even only that but he is been fantastic bar some minor and little mistakes.

There’s also this guy in Italy named Folorunsho and couples of players in Seria A. They can add steam to our midfield. Winning this cup will make Eagles an interesting thing to them and we can easily lure them to play for Nigeria.

Yeah exactly my thought, winning this will make them have interest in SE.

And I also want to say from what I learned this few days. I think we should desist from talking down our players. I have noticed that their is something negative it does on their moral. We always seem to have forgotten that they ate human beings that need to perform under pressure.

I’m making this case for those that are presently in the team and those that will join the team.

We should allow the guys coming in to prove their worth before replacing them with the old guys. And we need to give the new guys too some game time too before judging them bad and I will like to say it is high time we start including new guys in our friendly match lists, bcos now to some extent the coach has gotten is tactics right, the friendly matches will no more entirety meant for trying of new system.

So we can always include new guys in our friendly and we shouldn’t judge them bad if they refuse to perform in their first few matches. I’ve come to realize that some players usually need time to settle in.

I’ve come to this conclusion due to Nwanbali story I read, how genert Rohr went to watch him and his team GM told him Rohr is around to watch him thinking he’s helping him and according to the report Nwanbali was not himself in that match.

So, players does need time to settle in and if a player is trying to settle in and he’s been lambasted by fans due to his bad game that may affect his game in that team and may not be himself again. Look at lookman too, he was not performing up to expectation and now he’s our best players at AFCON. Look at Oshimen too, look at his performance due to Africa player award pressure, if you judge Oshimen by his AFCON performance is at your own perry. His first major AFCON and he’s coming in as an Africa best player.

So, let us try not to do the calling for their heads thing untill we have seen that they have gotten enough time to improve such as Uzoho case. And I also want to ask that we need to scout for one or two additional good goalies and to give olorunleke some playing time during friendlies to see his performance as well

Yes, thats what we need! An injury prone Taiwo Awoniyi that is out most of the time, that joined one of the many lower tier teams that wanted him, forest that might get relegated

      You know nothing
