Nathan Tella was in action for Bayer Leverkusen who defeated Freiburg 3-2 away in Sunday’s Bundesliga game.
The win means Leverkusen are now on 70 points and restore their 10 points lead over Bayern Munich.
Xabi Alonso side recorded their 22nd win in 26 league games and are yet to lose in all competitions this season.
Bayern has reduced Leverkusen’s lead to seven on Saturday after thrashing Damstadt 5-2.
Tella was introduced in the game for Jeremie Frimpong with seven minutes left.
Leverkusen got off to a very good start thanks to Florian Wirtz, who scored in the 2nd minute.
In the 10th minute Ritsu Doan equalized for Freiburg but Leverkusen went 2-1 up on 40 minutes through Adam Hlozek.
Leverkusen then went 3-1 up on 53 minutes as Patrik Schick got on the score sheet.
Yannik Keitel reduced the deficit on 79 minutes making it 3-2 but Leverkusen held on to claim the three points.
