Former Manchester United defender, Patrice Evra, has criticized coaches who try to copy Pep Guardiola’s pattern of play in their various teams.
Evra noted that many coaches are lazy and lack the creativity to deviate from the Guardiola’s style of playing from the back, starting from the goalkeeper.
In a chat with Rio Ferdinand’s podcast, Evra said he’s fed up with the general trend in football to apply ‘tiki-taka’.

“I think Guardiola is one of the best managers. But Guardiola killed the game. And when I say that, people will say because it’s United and City.
“No! Because now we’ve got robots. Academy, everyone wants to play like Guardiola. The goalkeeper has to be a number 10.
“A defender center back needs to tackle, put his head, like, those kinds of things. But now everyone wants to play amazingly.
“This tiki-taka only Guardiola can do it. Everyone is copying Guardiola, we have no creativity; we have no genius anymore.”
