The Nigeria international is regarded as a key member of the squad, but the club is reportedly willing to sanction a lucrative transfer should any interested party meet their valuation.
The Blue and Clarets have identified young Gambian defender Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh, who currently plays for Tromsø IL, as a potential replacement should Nwaiwu leave the club.
Trabzonspor are reportedly willing to table a €7 million bid for Kinteh as they seek a long-term solution at the heart of their defence.
Fulham Interested In Defender
Premier League club Fulham have been consistently linked with the defender, although it remains unclear whether they would be willing to meet Trabzonspor’s hefty asking price for Nwaiwu.
With compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey already on Fulham’s books, Nwaiwu would likely find it easier to adapt if he completes a move to the London club.
