William Troost-Ekong, Emmanuel Dennis and their Watford teammates have won the LMA Performance of the Week award for their historic 5-2 victory over Everton.
The League Managers’ Association panel of chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Paul Ince, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett, Barry Fry and Rachel Yankey chose Watford after they hammered the Toffees to secure a first ever victory at Goodison Park and give Claudio Ranieri his first three points since taking charge at Vicarage Road.
Following their 5-0 drubbing at home to Liverpool the previous weekend, the Hornets twice trailed on Merseyside but battled back to achieve a memorable victory thanks to Joshua King’s hat-trick and further goals from Juraj Kucka and Emmanuel Dennis.
Also Dennis, who came on in the second half, provided two assists for King.
Speaking after receiving the award Ranieri said: “Thank you to the LMA for this award and also thank you to my players for the performance at Everton.”
The Hornets will aim to make it back-to-back Premier League victories when they face Southampton at Vicarage Road today.
